Taak Farst
I quite agree. Not very Whovian of either of you. And I'd be more than happy to see another Whoniverse series. Possibly something about UNIT. I've always loved UNIT. They'd have to bring Nicholas Courtney in for at least the pilot. Lethbridge-Stewart was awesome. I would be interested in a U.N.I.T spin off - but also possibly a parralel thing - like parallel universe torchwood wit rose and rose dad and other doctor... The Doctor
Well, the parallel idea is a cool one, but it'll never happen. Billie is too busy with Secret Diaries (*drool*), and Tennant still has Doctor Who. One show is a hectic enough schedule. Two at the same time? They'd never sleep. Astor
And I'd be more than happy to see another Whoniverse series. Possibly something about UNIT. I've always loved UNIT. They'd have to bring Nicholas Courtney in for at least the pilot. Lethbridge-Stewart was awesome. I'm already liking this idea - "And now on BBC 2, the continuing adventures of UNIT..." And I agree on bringing back 'Sir Alistair' as he is known now... I was upset he wasn't in the Sontaran Episodes, but he did get a mention... EDIT: He's apparently coming back to the SJA... more info when I get chance... Courtney will play Lethbridge-Stewart again in a two-part story in the next series of the Doctor Who spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures, starring Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith. The new story will pit him and Sarah Jane against the Sontarans.[2] Removed link, didn't take me to the story...
Adavardes
I like the idea of another series, but at the same time, I'm cautiously pessimistic. You milk it too much, you end up stretching the whole concept a little thin. People get bored of something when they have too much of it. Now, if it was handled properly, made unique from the other spinoffs and given a strong writing crew with quality actors, then I can see it working. But otherwise, it's playing with fire, and for the sake of the success it already has, the Whoniverse might want to avoid getting burnt. SJA's already pushing that anyway, in my opinion. Every time she uses the sonic lipstick, I die a little inside. As for the UNIT idea, love it. So long as Martha doesn't come back. I'm tired of that character, very tired of her. She got old when she over-reacted at a hand in a jar when she's travelling through time and space in a police box, and she's at the end of the Universe, standing next to a bug-woman that has to say her name at the beginning and end of her speech. I'm just sayin'.
