Admiral Buttercrust
I was wondering if anyone could make my favorite murdering psychotic killer droid from Kotor 2 Red and Black, like in this picture But still scarred and wounded and for K2. This will be greatly appreciated.
Inyri
Hm, unless the textures are named differently I don't think you should have to do anything more put drop the targa (and any other included files) in your override folder. Can't say for certain because I'm not familiar with that mod, but in theory that should work.
Darth Payne
That mod contains only three TGAs so it should be possible to just put the files into the TSL override. Oh, and Inyri? the mod can be found here: http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Carthaholics_Red_Black_HK47;84083
Admiral Buttercrust
I did put the files in the override and ended up with a transparent HK. So, anyone know the file names of his appearance or if not I could just start pretending HK is a ghost (which could be pretty fun!)
Inyri
You're probably missing a *.TXI file.
Admiral Buttercrust
OK, so where might I find the .txi file?
Darth Payne
Uhh, there aren't any .TXI files included in the mod. Just the three .TGAs, as i pointed out in my previous post.
Admiral Buttercrust
Yea, I meant in Kotor Tool.
Inyri
Open up notepad and enter the following text: envmaptexture CM_Baremetal Name the text file the name of the texture, then make the extension *.TXI instead of *.TXT. So the final file should look like "texturename.txi". If you're getting "texturename.txi.txt" make sure you select "all files" or "all file types" as your extension when saving. Do that for all three *.TGA files and see if it helps with your transparency issue.
Admiral Buttercrust
I did as you said, but to no avail. He's still a ghost, so I, or someone else, is gonna have to make a new one out of a comparison shot and the original HK texture.
Canderis
why dont you open up the textures and paste them on new ones extracted from the ktool?
Admiral Buttercrust
Could try it, where's the murdering psychotic's TGA files?

svösh
Carthaholic stole my hk eye's it's too late to do much about it. but if you line my skin up next to his / her's you will see they are my skin's eyes to a pixel, and I hate it when people do that. They Didn't ask for permission and didn't give credit for work they didn't do. The eye's that I painted with increased contrast to look worn out like the rest of my skin and released in 2005.... To top it off the tool didn't even include all the needed files, of course you need a txi file named P_HK47_01.txi and by deafult HK uses "envmaptexture mycube" as his skin's shader but in appearance.2da it appears as **** Any of you interested can find my skin on my site to compare from the file front link above if you want. svösh
RedHawke
I agree, I hate it when people do that as well...
Shem
Well, the mod has been removed from KotorFiles. We don't take too kindly to plagiarism around there. Thanks to RedHawke for the heads up! You're welcome. -RH
svösh
Thanks RedHawke and Shem, I noticed that mod came out in 2007 so I figured why bother making a big deal about it. To me it's really a matter of respect, give credit where credit is due. We don't get paid for the time and effort we spend making these mods and most of the time it's just fun anyways but it's still a respect thing among the community, so thanks again
Admiral Buttercrust
Hey Svosh, I was wondering, I'm no modder and my expertise so far as been adding the changes to portraits and changing T3's Lightbulbs (eyes), or reskinning simple armor like Rep, or giving new eyes, but when I tested my skin out I got all of it wrong, and it didn't work out as well. Anyway, could you use your bullet/eye new HK, copy the files, reskin it the colors in the picture in my first post, then send the files to me? please?
