Return address on envelopes worry business owners

October 21st, 2008 @ 11:52am

By Mary Richards

Some Utah business owners got letters this week in the wrong envelope. It wasn't just any return address, either; it was from the sex offender registry program.

Dana Johnson received the routine licensing letter from the Department of Commerce, but the envelope's return address says Department of Corrections.

"If the word got out from someone who saw the envelope, it would be kind of hard to explain," Johnson said.

He thought the sex offender registry program was a joke at first. Now he says, "There are reputations on the line. I'm still trying to track down my mailman and explain it to him."

Johnson owns Countertops Plus, and he wasn't the only business owner to receive the letter. One hundred seventy nine contractors got the same letter in the wrong envelope.

The state mail center says somehow Department of Corrections and Department of Commerce envelopes were placed in the machine together. They are apologizing and taking steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

Source.

Post your favorite oops, let's breathe some life back in the swamp.

Wow, owned. I wonder what they did to stop it...

Rookie mistake. I'm Wave certified. :cop:

Stuff brings back bad memories.

if you watch the bottom left side, you can see the SBS guy heading off to shut off the water outside

and the wave is fun to drive...if you know how to drive it, backing it up through the backstock aisles sucks though
