Jedi Master Revan Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 This thread is dedicated to the question, what do the Mandalorians have to with K.O.T.O.R 3, this excludes the new MMO and what parts do you think they will play in this dark time? My suggestion to it is that they will be building up there forces rapidly due to some sort of plot and will have a minor party explore the unknown regions or become lost in it and find Revan and the Exile, they are then stuck in the 'true sith' territory and they call for help and deliver Revan to Mandalore, Revan refuses however saying htat they must be ready against this threat and that they will not alert the republic in any way incase of a spy finding out and that they protect the republic at all costs, when the 'true sith' find the rescue party and Revan and the Exile they almsot kill everyone except the two jedi and a few Mandalorians who manage to give the message to Canderous who immediately gathers all Mandalorians and literally hides and prepares a force to challange the 'true sith' he also goes into the unknown region i think or that could be just me ^^ This is kinda off the question but i would like to put this in as well, In K.O.T.O.R 4, if there is one, they act as a saviour of the republic under Revan which i think he will come back, i also believe that their will be a K.O.T.O.R 4 which will be literally after the 'true sith' take over Corusuant i hope this helps to move the time until the REAL K.O.T.O.R 3 comes out ^^
Blix Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 TBH I don't think there will be a KOTOR 3, SW: TOR is Lucas Arts' (an mmo that takes place 300 years after KOTOR mind you) answer to the KOTOR series.
Jedi Master Revan Posted November 18, 2008 Author Posted November 18, 2008 i don't think it is don't you think that the o.r could live longer than jsut 300 years i mean, yes they were defeated and lost literally everything, but their organisation and structure is still intact, even if the 'true sith' control literally the entire galaxy, i think.
Blix Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Perhaps, but what I'm getting at is that gamers like me who played K I & II who might want some "finite" closure to the stories of Revan and Exile, since TOR will likely just make sleight references to Revan if any at all. It's true that the Sith belief lives beyond the scope of KI & II, which is why we have Palpy & Caedus I don't think anyone who enjoyed KI & II would object to a Prequel based on the Manadlorian Wars.
Darca Lar Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I agree. A prequel based on the wars that brought KI and KII into play would most likely be enjoyable.
Steve-O Kreesh Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 One little wrinkle in that wish... Dark Horse Comics is printing the Knights of the Old Republic which is based in the Mandorlorian Wars.
Darca Lar Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 That is true and I do enjoy that comic. Still, the idea is solid; the timing isn't.
Jedi Master Revan Posted November 21, 2008 Author Posted November 21, 2008 Hey i am one of those gamers too! and i suppose they would and me, i also do like the idea of a prequel and thanks for the comment Darca Lar, the timing of this could be however just a few years after K.O.T.O.R do you think that it would work then?
Darca Lar Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 which one the first or second KOTOR? If it's after the second it wouldn't necessarily work because according to the timeline from TOR, there were no Sith present at the time...or at least reported present.
Jedi Master Revan Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 there were sith in each of the kotor, the sith being Malak and Nihilius
Darca Lar Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Yes I know that there were Sith IN the kotor games, but if you read my last post more carefully I stated that according to the timeline BETWEEN KotOR(after KII) and TOR(also after KII) given, there are no Sith present.
Jedi Master Revan Posted December 3, 2008 Author Posted December 3, 2008 you mean no sith to be seen ^^
Chevron 7 locke Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Thats the short name for the The Old Republic, the name of the MMO
RC-1183 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 wait woa woa woa could someone explain what the difference is between KotOR and TOR??
GarfieldJL Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 wait woa woa woa could someone explain what the difference is between KotOR and TOR?? They take place several centuries apart. KotOR III could still be released and not be TOR.
Chevron 7 locke Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 The old republic actually has the sith beating down the reoublic and forcing a treaty, in KOTOR, the sith are simply on the attack and are trying to beat the republic
Jedi Master Revan Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 You mean the 'true sith' force the republic to sign a treaty and the sith just try to decimate the republic, just to make the terms more clear
Darca Lar Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Actually, I understood Chevron better, but its to the same point no less.
Jedi Master Revan Posted December 12, 2008 Author Posted December 12, 2008 i know i jsut want it to be more specific incase people got confused with the 'true sith' and the sith.
Blix Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I wonder if we are going to get to see any heavily armed Mandalorian Mercs in ToR? It won't be the factor in which I'll decide to buy the game, but I would still like to know that our violent friends from Mandalore are not out of a job.
Darca Lar Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 well it will be a few centuries post K2 so who knows...
Jedi Master Revan Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 hell mando mercs with never dissappear, have you ever seen a movie or game without one? if you have then its rare and you were hullicinating ^^, ive never seen a a star wars game without a mando in it, although i have only played the most recognisable star wars games, i don't think the force unleashed has it though and how could the producers miss out the mandos? to me it's unthinkable, although i used to think replacing their time for a mmo instead of K.O.T.O.R 3 was unthinkable, so i would go with Darca Lar's decision, your guess is as good as mine.
