Alkonium
On my latest playthrough of Kotor, it seems that whenever I try to use a Thermal Detonator, or overload a power conduit, the game crashes. The most recent time I attempted to use a thermal detonator, I managed to spot that the explosion contained bits of green and pink in it, which definitely shouldn't be there. Any ideas? DarthParametric
Posting some system specs would be a good start. I suspect it's a problem with the explosion FX. You could try setting Frame Buffer=0 in the ini file.
Q
Yes, system specs would be nice. Throw us a bone.

Would either of those affect it?
Q
Thanks. Try these solutions one at a time. 1) Open your swkotor.ini file and add the line "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1" without the quotes under "Graphics Options." 2) Disable Frame Buffer Effects. 3) CPU affinity: I had exactly the same crashes with exactly the same timing until I did this: After starting the game, press Ctrl-Shift-Esc to bring up the task manager. Right-click "Knights of the Old Republic" under the applications list and select "Go to process." Right click on the highlighted process (probably something like kotor.exe) and select "Set Affinity..." In the dialog box that comes up, deselect all but one core. Then return to the game and see what happens ^/_\^ Just remember that you'll need to do this every time you start the game. 4) Since you're playing on an LCD, shouldn't your refresh rate be ~60Hz? See if any of those work for you.
