Do you try mods

For games with a storyline (like KotOR) I don't use mods unless it's an unofficial patch or restoration mod or something like that, because I'm only going to play it once or twice. If the game is more open and sandbox-y then I'm a lot more open to mods, because you can just install the mod and access the modded content quite quickly. You don't have to start a new game and wait till you get to a certain part in the campaign to find the stuff that was modded.

 

So games where I've used a lot of mods include:

- The Sims & Sims 2

- Morrowind

- Sid Meier's Pirates

[Darth Avlectus]

I like anything that restores KOTOR2 back as close to its original intent as possible. (ahem)

 

As well as patches and pretty much if it seems like it's a mod I want, I download it and give 'er a try.

 

I also think ones that allow for flexible creative innovation like Gmod are definitely worth the buy and downloads. For Half life 2 and similar.

 

Sims 2...mmm, well, yeah there is admittedly some stuff here that seems cool. I'm not a major sims fan myself. But I though, what the hell I'll buy it. Imagine my delight to see some mods some of my favorite characters. And stuff like that. I think Chevron 7 Locke knows what I am talking about here.

 

GTA games. Hell yeas. However, anyone make a mod that insults the GTA games I swear I'll rip their bunghole off, just like beavis threatened to do to butt-head.

 

I do wonder if it would be posible to mod some of the later PC incarnations of the Mega Man X games. I'd sure love to improve the physics engine of Capcom's mega man X 7. Most of the gripes with this game that made it so terrible were in this department. It was shabbily done for a 3-D engine. Shame.
