Baconator96 Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 I just got started playing! im in the undercity of Taris, and i barely get to do anything before the whole game freezes. i cant even CTRL+ALT+DEL out it! i have to do a hard reset on my computer just get out of the program!
Canderis Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 First off, welcome to the forums and second, try re-installing the game. Do you have any mods installed? Are you using XP or Vista?
Miltiades Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Issues with the game should be posted at the Workbench, unless you have problems with a certain KotOR modding program, but it's evident that's not the case. About the issue itself: We'll need more info. Posting your system specs would be a good start. Are your drivers up to date? And the questions Canderis posed are vital as well. Try lowering the graphics settings.
Baconator96 Posted May 24, 2009 Author Posted May 24, 2009 Im running on XP SP 2, drivers are up to date. no mods installed. this is the first time ive ever even used the game. nothing was wrong in the upper and lower cities, it wasnt even sluggish or laggy or anything, but now, i get to talk to the bums at the elevator, the 2 guys in the village, and maybe the shopkeeper before it just freezes and i cant do anything on my computer anymore.
R2-X2 Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 I have the same problem, and reinstalling doesn't fix it. I had to save before the elevator, put the save on another computer, play, save after it, and get the save back to the other computer. I think you'll get the same problem on 5 other places.

R2-X2 Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 I think you are. I don't know to fix it, and that's sometimes driving me crazy, because mods using that areas don't work too.

Have you tried lowering the graphics settings? Especially try turning off grass/shadows. And system specs could prove useful, you know.
Baconator96 Posted May 25, 2009 Author Posted May 25, 2009 I cant provide you with much system detail, but i have tried turning off the grass and shadows. it hasnt helped yet, but i tried making a new game. not the most likely of solutions to work, but ill give it a try.
