Darth Kuya
(This BBCode requires its accompanying plugin to work properly.) Do you agree with Bill Maher? On which points? Why or why not?
Nedak
This pretty old. But I agree on most all the points.
Web Rider
I like Bill, but like many Liberals I know, they're never happy. They're the kind of people who would vote for Sarah Palin because Obama saved 6% of all jobs but not 8%. The kind of people who would just not vote at all because Obama won't legalize gay marriage, destroy the auto industry and take us all down to a subsistence lifestyle. These are people who have gotten their cake, eaten it all, and now want more. And this is why generally speaking, Republicans have been in control of this country for the last 40 years. Don't blame republicans for screwing up our country, blame people like Bill who let them do it.

Lord of Hunger
I disagree on some of Bill's stances on the issues to a certain extent, but I do think that if Obama wants something done he needs to grow some teeth. The Republicans blocking legislation? That's to be expected. The Democrats not supporting legislation? For crying out loud, you're the President AND the head of your Party. Stop being the happy elected official and be a tyrant! Because frankly we need monarchy to tame the oligarchy that is our Congress.
Jae Onasi
The President can't make Congress vote the way he wants--I know it's frustrating when you want things to get done and not get mired in Pelosi's idiot political maneuvering, but the Constitution was set up to prevent abuse of power by either Congress or the President. This was one of the reasons I was hoping Obama might actually wait before running for President--he would have had more time to build relationships and gain clout in the Senate (like LBJ), which would have helped him tremendously. However, he's President now and he has to work with what he has. I'm happy to see him doing a lot of what he said he'd be doing. Sure, he's altered his stance on some things (like the timing of getting out of Iraq), but I think that's because he now has access to information he didn't have before the election, and he's made changes based on his understanding of that new information. He came to the Presidency under extremely difficult circumstances--an unpopular war, a medical system with serious flaws, and an economy in deep recession/depression. I understand Pelosi and Reid don't want to give up an ounce of power, but I'm a little surprised that they're dragging their feet on some issues for purely political reasons, since this was their golden boy that they wanted elected. As for Maher, let him be annoyed if he wants. It's his job to make jokes and get ratings, and if he feels like criticizing the President will do that for him, then it's no surprise to see that happening. The guy's unhappy about everything anyway.
