darthtyren
I'm trying to put actual voiced dialogue into a conversation with a duro, but I cant find their conversation sound files. Where would they be?
harIII
You want to go to BIFs / Sounds / WAV In there you will see a huge list of audio files and if you scroll around you'll find the names of the files you're looking for. Just look for something that refers to Duros.
Dak Drexl
What I always do is open up a Duros dialog file from someone you remember from the game. For example in k1 there is the Duros right outside your apartment. Find his dialog file and look in his entries... look in the "sound played" (or something similar to that, can't think of it off the top of my head) box when you click an entry. It'll have something in there... just copy that and paste it in the same box in your custom dialog and it will play. Be sure to use different ones though! You don't want the same sounding line over and over.
darthtyren
I can't find anything anywhere that belongs to that Duro. I search the dialog files and not one belongs to that dude.
Fallen Guardian
Go into kotor tool -> BIFS -> 2da.bif -> 2D array -> aliensound.2da. There's every alien voice over with their I.D. and which alien they belong to.
darthtyren
OMG, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! But now I have another problem. I put the sound file in with the dialogue, but when I run the game to test it, there is no sound. Let me show you what it should be, unless I'm wrong: Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show)
Fallen Guardian
Put it in VO resref. That's what I always do and it works for me.
darthtyren
Tried it and it didn't work. What am I going wrong? Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show)
Fallen Guardian
If the dialogue belongs to the speaker you don't have to put the speaker's name in the speaker box. Leave it blank and then see if it works.
darthtyren
OK, and that didn't work. Let me tell you this before you say anything else: this is all for KotOR I, not TSL, just in case that might change something.
harark1
Take it out of sound. Only put it in VO_resref. I think it confuses the game when you have something in both.
darthtyren
That didn't help at all. Do I need to put the file extension with the filename, or leave it as the filename? EDIT I figured it out - thank you BoS:SR - the file name said it was n_genduros_coms1, but I got rid of the en and it worked!!!!!!! Now, the question is where to go from here. EDIT2 I've started to do the same thing for TSL, and it doesn't play the dialogue. Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) What am I doing wrong now? EDIT3 OK, so I can hear the dialogue, but the dude's lips aren't moving. I also am encountering problems with the animations (like "POINT" is actually something along the lines of "being held in the air"). Can someone please help? darthtyren
I'm getting annoyed by editing the above post. Now, on to more important matters: I have removed the animations, but am still having problem with the lips not moving. Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) I'm guessing I need to se the VO_ResRef for the lip sync, but I don't know how to go about doing this. Any suggestions? Fallen Guardian
For the animation I find that instead of something like Animation 1200 Point, you have to select the animation farther down the list called 10200 Point. Just make sure it has a ten in front of it. Next, the reason the lips aren't moving is the lip files are not in the module. You have to go into your SWKotOR 2 directory (I assume your modding Kotor 2) and find a module where you remember talking to a twi'lek. Then when you find that open it in erf editor and search n_gtmtwlek and it will come up with all the lip files it has in that module. then you extract them, put them in the Override and voila, the lips move. Hope this helped.
