Newbies (in your specific context) are people who have just joined and reasonably (likely) are not experienced with vBulletin anf bb code. A n00b is generally someone who has been around, continues to ask the same questions about the same thing, refuses to learn the answer when said an inordinate ridiculous amount of times, blames others for failures resulting from his ineptitude, takes credit for stuff he did not do, and...well you get the point I think.
