Sith Sizzle
Does anyone like to cheat while playing KotOR/TSL? I always beat a game all of the way through without cheat codes the first time, or two times in this case since you can be light side and dark side, but then after that I like to go crazy and get everything I want from the start! I like a challenge, but sometimes I just want to enjoy the story and be able to get every item and every dialogue option there is without having to play the game over again multiple times. igyman
What you said above is a principle I apply to most games I play - I finish it once fair and square on medium difficulty and then, if I decide to play it again, I just want to have fun with all available abilities. Although, I strictly avoid straightforward "god mode" cheats, because it's more fun if there's some, even microscopic, risk that you might get killed in a fight. Pho3nix
Yeah I'm a bit of a hound when it comes to cheating.
The Doctor
I'll use cheats to overcome or compensate for bugs or glitches, but that's about it.
Totenkopf
Try to avoid any cheats on first playthroughs, but after that I'm open to even "god-type" cheats to move the game along, usually to cut corners on time spent. The games can be fun, but overly long w/o them. And if mods in general are throw into cheat category, to spice up game and keep it from becoming stale. Darth Avlectus
Modding and testing, you pretty much have to. For gameplay, I don't tend to on first time or on replays if it's a good game with nice replayability. Though lately, I have done it either because I don't want to spend all that much time on a game and it makes no difference to the result OR it's a game that grades your ending based on performance and it's nigh impossible to get anything better than "D" ranking or similar. I have done it before and taken shortcuts and the like just because I'm somewhat interested but it isn't worth taking the time and going to all that bother. Or if it's the case where you cannot get hold of some items or characters through playing but it's there in the data. Or attaining such a rare item it costs you an inordinate amount of time IRL playing just to maybe get the opportunity to get it which might not even pan out at all. Or cutting down inconvenience. I.E. Megaman: The Wily Wars. Say you already played & beat MM1, MM2, & MM3 on the NES, You're not interested in doing it again for Sega Mega Drive. You just want to go to the Dr. Wily tower game.
