bunjeeman
Hello all. I haven't lurked here in a long time, so if I'm posting something that's already been done/answered, please provide a link. Questions; I noticed that, in K1, Mission Vao was able to wear modded clothing/robes/armor which all fit perfectly. Is her model simply shrunken a little? And if so, would it be possible to scale a model to be taller and still have all the wearable items fit? Also, if the previous idea is doable, would it be at all possible to do ithorians and wookiees as having some armor appearances? The selkath and ithorians have very limited animations. Is it possible to edit a combat animation set for them that has the Malak one-handed animation, but normal double and twin saber animations? Sithspecter
I believe that Mission Vao uses the small versions of the different clothing/armor/robes. There are three different sizes that the game uses; small, medium, and large. A simple .2da edit would bump Mission's outfits (with the exception of her default clothing and underwear, there is only one size of those) to a different size. It's technically feasible to do armors for Ithorians and Wookiees, as evidenced by RedRob's Playable Sand Person, though it's a fairly difficult and lengthy process from what I understand. Animations for Selkath and Ithorians are probably technically feasible as well, but would be difficult to accomplish. Animations aren't simply a "copy and paste" thing, so they would have to be re-created from scratch.
Kitty Kitty
I believe that Mission Vao uses the small versions of the different clothing/armor/robes. There are three different sizes that the game uses; small, medium, and large. A simple .2da edit would bump Mission's outfits (with the exception of her default clothing and underwear, there is only one size of those) to a different size. Confirmed. By default, Mission's data is row label 10 in appearance.2da. As stated, she has her own underwear (model A) and clothing (model B) models, since it would look strange if her head was blue but the skin tone of her body wasn't. This holds true of most characters. Armor models (Model C, D, E etc on up to J for Star Forge robes) share the same models as the player. For that matter, so do Bastila, Canderous, Carth, Jolee and Juhani. To make Mission "bigger" when wearing armor, load up appearance.2da (the one in the \override folder) and find her row. Find the column headings for "modelX" where X stands for letters C through J. Change what's there now (should all be "PFBxS" (again, x stands for C through J) to either all read "PFBxM" (the 'M' here is the thing you're changing) to make her use medium female body sizes, or to "PFBxL" (make last letter an 'L') to use large female body sizes. As Sithspecter mentioned, your other ideas aren't impossible, but they're fairly deep into "advanced modding" unless you already have a pretty decent understanding of modeling and animation, since you really can't simply "borrow" those sorts of resources most of the time. Wookies in armor, for example.. There are no model files anywhere you could point to for this, and Wookies themselves use a "one-piece" model, where the head isn't separate like a player's or most NPCs are. That means you would need to know how to export the base Wookie model, then make at least 9 copies of it (variant B through variant J) and either then copying/moving/scaling various armor models from other types of character and merging them, or by hand-creating your very own models of Wookies wearing armor of various types, you'd save all those, tell your 2da file where to find them, then create all the texture variations for them, etc.. So yeah.. it would be quite the project for most people. If you're really serious about wanting to do it, the best place to begin is probably combing the forums and maybe YouTube for any tutorials you can find on adding models to the game. Personally, I have next to no experience with animations, so I can't really be of any more help there I'm afraid. All I do know for sure is back when I used to mess around with modeling new stuff for another game, I was fortunate to be able to re-use a lot of stock animations, since my attempts to figure out how to do new ones met with very little if any success. xD -Kitt
bunjeeman
Truth be told, these questions are just to get a feel for what is and what is not possible. I'm still struggling with force power scripts, but I'm optimistic that one day I may be able to look at other areas as well. Thank you for your answers. Kitty Kitty
Quite welcome, and we all need to start someplace. While I may not be the one to offer much help with modeling, and definitely not with animations, I'm actually fairly adept with scripting and a few other modding aspects. If you get stuck on something when working with your force power issues, feel free to ask. My PM box isn't hard to find. -Kitt

As has been said, the armor and robes all have different size variations already. I'll add, though, that you can change the model sizes for the clothing and underwear too, but I can't remember if you can do it without destroying the texture smoothing. Also, if the previous idea is doable, would it be at all possible to do ithorians and wookiees as having some armor appearances? It depends on what models you're working with, but yes. Theoretically possible. There are tutorials for merging models like that over in the subforums. It's really not difficult if you know what you're doing - it doesn't require much modeling skill, if you're worried about that. The selkath and ithorians have very limited animations. Is it possible to edit a combat animation set for them that has the Malak one-handed animation, but normal double and twin saber animations? I've tried this for Ithorians, and it's not possible without animating them from scratch. I'm not sure about Selkath but I wouldn't expect them to fare much better. The smoothing is fixed now.
JCarter426
Oh, I didn't realize that had been cracked. I was sick all last week. Wow, all smoothing? Well, that's great!
