Oh yes, I cheated a bit looked up a list, too (as I'd recalled we were in ReMI). Didn't help today, though. And I don't normally bother.

I thought we were still in the single letter theme. So I went for U (as in Guybrush Ulysses Threepwood)?

Nope.

L (as in Charles L. Charles)?

Nope.

Let’s try just all other single letters: “N”?
The  I made an error on my second guess, guessing STAN. But that meant I had just a single unknown letter left. This should be easy now. Right?

Wrong.

 

TANK (controls)!
Nope.

PANT (Ahoy there, fancy…)!

Nope. 
AINT (this ain’t the answer)!

Nope.

WANT (I you to struggle to find the solution, apparently)!

Nope.

TANE (hey, who knows?) 

Nope.

OK, I’ll just use everything with everything then…. Mmmmh it does not start with TAN…

Let’s try every combination ending on ANT then. 
Nope.

A?NT then? 
AUNT (as in whose geese are dead)!
Nope.

 

When I FINALLY came to trying the possible last pattern and typed in the second letter, I felt just like the answer.
