Curious, let's pick it apart for scraps of speculation!

 

I noticed a kind of trail in the top left corner where water or Sonic the Hedgehog could go through.

 

Also the rock tiles prominently feature bumps and ramps that could be taken straight from Excite Bike.

 

Just decoration or a hint at a gameplay mechanic?

Based on earlier posts from Ron, the tile set seems to be from Kenny game assets, a really amazing free library of art you can use when making a game. That makes it hard to know if he’s planning on shipping with those or if it’s just a quick way to prototype something that is easy on the eyes while in development.

I googled a bit and I found a thread about this on the Thimbleweed Park forums. From 2017!

 

Interestingly, Ron said he just does this for fun and the chance of it becoming a real game are close to zero.
