Udvarnoky
Looks faintly Zelda-esque, and is possibly coming out this year? https://mixnmojo.com/news/A-Little-Something-gets-a-little-closer 3
Gins
Curious, let's pick it apart for scraps of speculation! I noticed a kind of trail in the top left corner where water or Sonic the Hedgehog could go through. Also the rock tiles prominently feature bumps and ramps that could be taken straight from Excite Bike. Just decoration or a hint at a gameplay mechanic? Jake
Based on earlier posts from Ron, the tile set seems to be from Kenny game assets, a really amazing free library of art you can use when making a game. That makes it hard to know if he’s planning on shipping with those or if it’s just a quick way to prototype something that is easy on the eyes while in development. 2
Kolzig
Ooohh I remember when he talked about this in his blog years ago. Cool that he is still working on it!
Gins
I googled a bit and I found a thread about this on the Thimbleweed Park forums. From 2017! Interestingly, Ron said he just does this for fun and the chance of it becoming a real game are close to zero. Well, one new Monkey Island game later, here we are 😄
Udvarnoky
We try to give the project its due real estate on the front page, but Ron offers glimpses so frequently on his Mastodon that this might be the best place to discuss every screenshot he shares. For example we've got snow... https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@grumpygamer/112583263975535203 ...and the flickering lights of "GothTown": https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@grumpygamer/112621244604164950
Udvarnoky
A Shtick to the Past will remain there, though Ron's pivoting to another game that supposedly releases in only a few months.
