TheJackal_jk2
Should Galactic BattleGrounds use a simple monetary system like C&C, R&A, StarCraft or a bit more complex like AgeOfEmpires. I was thinking about it and I figured it would suit more StarWars if there wasn't four different resources needed to mine. The 4 resources worked great for AgeOfKings, wood, stone, gold and food. It fits the game because of its time line. But i think GB should use a simple system like StarCraft. It had only two resources. Mines and gas. In GB's case it could be metal and ... gas (how do you expect mechs to move). I know the game is going to be released soon. But I was just thinking how GalaticBattlegrounds would be if it did use the R&A engine. I think it would fit a lot better. More cities landscape would be allowed. I think Mechs would look better. And all flying units would also be more StarWars-like. (as in the strafe the enemy and need to refuel) What do you think?
Guest Darth G
i like it the way it is... it makes more a challenge to try to achieve a balance in the economy
Jedi_Knight
yeah i think it is more fun with all 4 resorces, although they could change one of the 4 resorces and add petrol or gas make sence for the mechs and robots
Guest dr_death
if you dont like using recorces you can use the senario deitor to give your self a million of each so so wont have to search for any more. I i like using the recorces but when someone sends there jedi to kill my bots i gat very angry!. it is an effective tatic but the game is no fun that way! Guest WC_heavyarms
you can only give yourself 99999, but it is fun that way. Make 200 AT-AT's and Kill someone with.

Guest Admiral Thrawn
I played AoK and AoC for 2 years now, when I first started playing Star Craft, I found it boring with only a few resouces to collect.

Its nice to see someone who agrees. As for resources, i found it strange to have droids mining.....berries?!? I mean come on, that is pathetic. They should simply have 1 resource, metal. It would be like in RA2. The Imps could have a mini World Devestator type thing that could attack like the War Miner. The Rebs could have one that flew back to the base after they pick up the metal. The Wookies could have one that could drive through trees. The Gungans could have one that could go underwater to collect "sea-faring" metal and get across rivers. And the Naboo could have one that collected more metal faster. See, that would work perfectly. Add that with the other things that RA2 is better in like cities, buildings, air units, and diversity, and you've got a far superior game IMO. Eets
I agree with everything you said but the food part, TIE. I mean, an army has to eets, right? *rofl!!* sorry, couldn't help myself... *cough*... *goes back into hole*

Dvlos
I agree with some of the things here. But I still enjoy the AoK engine, its a good RTS design just begging for a license like Star Wars to give it more flavor. I kind of agree with the Berries thing, however someone said already your Army has to eat right? That works for everyone except the trade Fed. But i guess Neomodians are some fat hungry berry eating bastards that won't lift a finger to make a droid until they get their berry bunches in their guts. Carbon is wierd, but maybe they ran into problems with making it like rocks or something. There would have to be like rocks everywhere. In any case Starcraft was cheesy man, it had like spikes of minerals like at every base!!! And although AoK does the same it doesnt LOOK so obvious, I mean some bushes, woods and stuff scattered around is not the same as a green spire of fart gas and some blue rocks next to you all the time. Nova and Ore, well who cares Its like Gold and Stone anyway. In the original AoK only Gold mattered, it made all hte heavy hitting units along with wood. But it seems in SW GB there is a good balance, you need all 4 to make a nice empire and you have to manage them good or you will waste them and not cover all areas of your civ. That makes you think more, and weeds out the idiot player who just want to make 09485034985039485304985 pummels to win the game.

Or how about armies in Star Wars going and planting farms around their base? At the battle of Hoth, you'll notice that the Empire didn't send down troops, then set up a couple farms and got some workers to pick berries so that the armies could eat did you? It just doens't happen, and it especially doesn't happen in Star Wars, which is in the distant future.
Eets
Moisture farms.. Besides, the empire's missions were mostly hit and run combat missions. Take the SP for the demo as a frinstance. And I do agree with you there, a droid picking berries looks a leeeeetle stupid.
Dvlos
Your all whack, I am willing to bet there are tons of berries in the packs that the stormtroopers have on their utility belts. Furthermore why do you think the death star gunners had wierd egg shaped helmets, just to sit in a dark room? No funderoo, that's a berry dispenser. darthfergie
I like it as is... But One thing that could be different...Ore is rarer than Nova...I thought Nova was supposed to be rarer?!?!?!?!?!?

Anyways, Ferg, you generally need more nova in a game than ore, so they give you a little more nova.

No they don't!!! there is never enough ore, but Nova is VERY plentiful!!!! You can find it all over the map!!!
Paragon_Leon
He's right. I frequently run out of ore and have to rely on my spaceport to get more. And there we have the answer to all your resource-problems: trading !! Focus heavily on food and carbon and you'll get any resource you need really. Guest Tie Guy
oops, sorry Ferg, i meant to say that they give you more nova, not ore. Fixing...........done.
