Their servers would be tied up if they had people downloading it from them. And the GBG thing pisses me off. I knew that they would just "forget" about the JKII chat. I dont mind all that much, since ive been a veteran of dial-up. I cant remember how many times i left on my dial up all night just to download huge files. Gameplay is pretty much like AoK, but there are major differences: Power Cores, Shields, and air units. These change the gameplay quite a bit. The game is not disappointing - the demo is. It's too limited: only one single player mission, only one victory condition in multiplay, and a 75 unit cap. There's no way to play a regular skirmish!
