The ending of MI2...

A few of us over at the ags forums (well, i say a few) have been trying to work out what the hell ron g. actually meant with the ending to MI2, and some interesting stuff has come up that really does question the entire MI world. check it out here:

I've heard a couple times now from a couple people relatively near the project (or sequels) that it meant exactly what it was. Guybrush is a very imaginitive kid in an amusement park (perhaps in pirate or "old timey" times, but he is a kid nontheless).

 

I got a chance to talk with Tim Schafer this past summer and I of course asked about the ending to MI2 What did he say? "I don't know what all the fuss is about. It made perfect sense at the time."

 

Apparently the "kid in an amusement park" was going to be the end to MI1 but people talked Ron Gilbert out of it to leave room for a sequel.

I was wondering about that too. The only part I like about the ending was after the credits it keeps telling you more "productive" things you could be doing. The end of the story, I thought was pretty lousy.

the hole thing with the ending to monkey 2 is. ron got the whole idea of monkey island from a ride in disney world which is a them park! sooooo the ending where guybrush is in a THEM PARK makes alot of sense becase thats where ron got the idea

Ron Gilbert got the idea for Monkey Island while riding on the Pirates of the Carribian ride at Disney World or Disney Land (whichever one it is hehe) not the ending of MI2, it could be related, but the origional idea was for Monkey Island, not the ending of MI2
