Well I've been playing this games for about a month, and It kicks-A$$. I love the game. I know it's base on the old AOK engine, but it has so much more detail then you could ever get on a new 3D engine. Plus I love the unique artwork of each civ. This game beats AOK anyday. So much more fun then AOKs any one who hasn't bought the FULL game, and is a RTS fan should love this game. This game Kicks A$$ Lucas Art. Best game yet you made, Keep it up. Anyone agree with me? :D

I'm not trying to make new enemies but It's a good game but lucasarts could have done alot more. as gamespot said and i have to agree:

"...Would it have killed LucasArts to make the sides substantially different? In Age of Kings, the Britons don't vary too drastically from the Celts because, well, they're both human civilizations that evolved along similar lines. But the only real excuse for the Gungans and the Galactic Empire being so similar is that this is the way Age of Kings did it."

. it's is basically AoE with different graphics.

It is better than the Ages of Empire because THe SWGB is an advance civs technolgy. In the AoE it is boring to command primtive armies... SWGB is much much better!!! I AGREE WITH THE THREAD ARTHUR!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

I agree that this is a truly awesome game, but I also agree that they should have more clearly defined each civilizations role, and maybe balanced it a little bit better. If they're going to do any of that, it would have to be in an expansion. If they create an expansion, I'd just hope that they make the civilizations a little more unique, and add some cool new features. Great game though! :D

you get the picture.

It's about gameplay, folks; not about how the civs look.

evidently not to everyone

I completely agree. I love the AoE/AoK engine -- that is, how the game plays, how it works -- but I had gotten rather bored with the range of options available in it, after playing it for over a year. GB uses the same engine, and many similar (though re-named) options, but it also added a whole series of new things, such as those you mention. I've only been playing the more hardware-intensive games since this past August, when I finally got a nice new AMD Thunderbird-based PC... of the new games I've bought since then, GB is far and away my favorite. It uses my favorite engine, and tweaks it, and the tweak is *Star Wars* based! How can you get any better than that?

:)

May the Force be with you.
