The Dogfuchow Posted December 9, 2001 Posted December 9, 2001 Whatever happened to that new Sam and Max comic by Steve Purcell? Is it still in the making? I do believe it had something to do with that cover from Surfing the Highway, in which a monkey is with Sam and a newspaper says that Max was shot........ ay. Jake?
Jake Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 I think work on that comes and goes proportionately to how much other work Steve Purcell is doing. Like, right now he's working at Pixar and also supervising the creation of the new Sam & Max game at Infinite Machine, so my best guess would be that time left for the comic is somewhere around not much. Just a guess though. Could come out tomorrow for all I know.
Schmatz Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 It could come out next yesterday. That's what I heard...
Metallus Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 That's when it should have come out, anyway.
The Dogfuchow Posted December 10, 2001 Author Posted December 10, 2001 oooh.. what if Pixar did a Sam and Max film....... in CMI style or really fluent 3D-cell-kinda thing......... heh
Metallus Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 It would be the biggest thing since sliced sabretooth cat!
MtBlanc Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 Please Met, come up with some new material. We've all heard your sabertooth cat jokes.
Metallus Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 So, you'd say that those jokes have gone "extinct"? *dies of lameness*
JR2000Z Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 The latest S&M comic that I saw was released back in 1995. I didnt realize that Steve still makes them.
Jake Posted December 11, 2001 Posted December 11, 2001 They showed up in a couple shorts in Fox Kids magazine, and there was a 3 page color special Halloween themed one in Wizard around 1998. No independant books for a while though. Steve Purcell was working on a full new story theoretically more the length of "Bad Day On The Moon" or "On The Road" a year or so ago, but there hasn't been much news about it in a while. The first 6 pages or so are funny
iisaac Posted December 11, 2001 Posted December 11, 2001 Look what you've done, Jake, you made yourself wish you weren't born. You'll wish you weren't born when certain angry Sam & Max fans get a hold of you. Not me, of course. I'm a pacifist.
AndrewL Posted December 11, 2001 Posted December 11, 2001 Hell yea, we gonna go down to petaluma and tie jake up and let him watch old 70's pornos for 984 hours. That'll be cool. he'll come out all traumatized. Growing an afro and what.not
Jake Posted December 11, 2001 Posted December 11, 2001 I'd probably become entirely desensitized after the first 20 minutes.
Schmatz Posted December 11, 2001 Posted December 11, 2001 I dunno... 'Hos with Fros' is a really creepy one... Met thinks I'm lame
Metallus Posted December 11, 2001 Posted December 11, 2001 Yes, the accepted spelling is ho's. Deal with it.
The Dogfuchow Posted December 13, 2001 Author Posted December 13, 2001 but then Jake's right. it shall be HO'S not HOS. Looks like hoss.
Schmatz Posted December 13, 2001 Posted December 13, 2001 Ok, but look at this. Ho's means something owned by a ho, like "This is the Ho's toy" It's a possession thing in grammar. So, the plural of Ho, I thought, would be Hos. Just what I thought.
iisaac Posted December 13, 2001 Posted December 13, 2001 Ho is short for whore. Whores whould be shortened to hoes. I don't know about you, but this board resembles the chatroom more and more with every day gone by.
Schmatz Posted December 13, 2001 Posted December 13, 2001 Yeah, except the fact that it takes some peopl, oh, 6 hours to respond.
