I was playing the naboo and I was the empire. they sent some adv fighters to attack and I viewed their stats and they had 30 hps and shields and my tie defenders had 40 hps do all other races air have 40hps or is it just the empires air?

Yeah but in RL (can't belive I just said that) they also have missile lauchers 4 laser 2 ion cannon and more armor then any tie fighter.

But in GB they shouldn't have sheild in normal game.

Imperial fighters and TF fighters have additional HP to offset the fact that they don't have armor or shields for aircrafts. Trust me, an extra 10 HP is nothing compared to an additional 30 fast-regenerating shields.

Well, 10 additional HP AND 40 extra shields is another story ;).

1 vs 1 the naboo aircraft will win. Perhaps you AA fire helping you?

Maybe if their suicidal or have lost power to engine but not if they're engine are working and their in battle even if the guy shooting right at you is missing alot with no shields onelucky shot from him or a stray shot from the main battle would kill instantly.

It's not the hit points that make your ships powerful, it's the upgrades, things like shields. If you want to convince yourself of this, send 5 fully upgraded TIE Defenders against 5 fully upgraded (including ALL possible upgrades, especially armor and shields) X-wing or Naboo fighters. Your TD's will be chopped meat. If you get really lucky, after all 5 TD's are destroyed, you might have wiped out one, or maybe (maybe) 2 X-wings.

Do not underestimate the power of the Dark Side... or of fighter shields. ;)

You very well could've been winning against the Naboo fighters if they didn't buy all their upgrades. The shield upgrade is 500 nova and armor is around 400 nova, so thier not cheap. With out those upgrades they're the same as the TIE Defender. This is true for all the units. The Empire has the best mechs because it has the most upgrades for them. If you don't buy the upgrades thier mech aren't any better then the other civs.

Empire air units don't differ that much from other air-units. Just get your upgrades; that's the key. If you have a fully upgraded fighter, it can survive about two hits from a regular anti-air turret. Imagine the damage your OTHER fighters / bombers can do in the meantime...

Swarming is the key to foiling AA defenses. As Naboo I always rely almost entirely on air power. The other night (against the comp) I built two squadrons, one of 30 fighters, one of 30 bombers. Then I sent them into the enemy's base. When the smoke cleared and he had surrendered, I still had about 18 in each squadron.

When you encounter AA defenses, send in your bomber squadron, but keep the figher squadron around, and in range of the AA. This will distract the AI that controls the AA defenses, "confusing" it with the swarming of so many objects. It will often pick fighters that are not even dangerous to it, instead of bombers. This is not as likely to happen if you attack with 3 or 4 of each item... but 30 of each, will confuse even a human most of the time. Also, keep your fighters flying around the bomber cluster, and make sure the go after any of the smaller AA units, like AA troopers, since the fighters can nail them in one or two hits, faster than the bombers can with one hit.

With non-shielded fighters from the Empire or the Gungans, etc, you would probably have to do this more than once, as your first set of 30+30 would probably end up eventually being wiped out (and as soon as they each get into the single digits you are in trouble, because the AI doesn't get so confused, nor would a normal human opponent). But sitll, a few waves of 60 air units each, even unshielded, will take out any computer defenses I have ever seen and probably would give serious headaches even to a well defended human.

May the Force be with you.
