Hey! I also consider myself as an adventure gamer, but that certainly hasn't stopped me from playing every game that is labeled with Star Wars. ;) Broken Sword anyone? Oh, you don't know that... How about Gabriel Knight then? :D What comes to SW Galaxies, it promises a lot(and I'm sure it will also keep most of those promises), but I never buy games that are meant for online gaming only and I don't wanna pay extra monthly just to have some sort of alter ego living online. Man, after that I would never have real live outside these games and net!

When Star Wars: Galaxies was first announced, I was really interested in it. But I'm now more sceptical of the whole MMORPG thing. My net connection certainly wouldn't help...then there's the monthly fees, and the need to dedicate X amount of hours to it to feel you're getting your money's worth...

Heh...I just about have enough time for these forums and playing games...inbetween work and being with my kids, etc... ;)

Nice forums, though...

I'll be waiting for KOTOR, I think...

FinnSon, have you played any LucasArts adventures?

Yeah, sure. :) Grim Fandango was one of my favorites, because of its distinctive atmosphere just as Sam & Max, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle and Monkey Island series. I think there is only one classic LEC adventure game that I haven't played: Zoom. It's just that because adventure games sell quite well only in Europe these days, no one seems to have enough faith to make them; action games have started to take inspiration from adventure games though, because they often have much better written storylines(Undying, NOLF, perhaps even Deus EX) and sometimes feature harder puzzles PLUS you can talk with NPC characters in some occasions. It's too bad that even Sierra buried Gabriel Knight after its third part(and Jane Jensen still wants to do fourth one) and now "my only hope" is Revolution Software which made Broken Sword(Circle of Blood in USA) series and is now developing third part to it in addition to "Good Cop Bad Cop"; both of them are much more "action packed" adventures and have darker atmosphere, so they will hopefully encourage also action fans to try them.

I think you mean Loom :). I have yet to play that, too. I haven't played Zak McCracken and the Alien MindBenders or Indy Jones and the Last Crusade, either. Of the ones I've played, all all great.

Yeah, Loom(I'm zooming too much into my enemies) and now, when you mentioned Zak McCracken and the Alien MindBenders, it's also another classic that I haven't tried. Last Crusade was funny interpretation from actual movie, but Fate of Atlantis took victory, because it was created with gaming purposes in mind and wasn't restricted by movie. Hopefully LEC will make another Indy game soon(or at least when new movie finally arrives), because even though I enjoyed playing Infernal Machine(modified Jedi engine didn't bother me too much, but animations might have needed some tweaking), it only scratched the surface and needed more adventure gaming puzzles. Maybe they will soon come up some fresh ideas for games, because I seem to remember that they promised officially to reduce their number of SW games to consist only 50 percent of all their products and remaining 50 percent would therefore be non-SW games. Adventures have always been one of their forte, you know? :D

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing them do a sequel to Outlaws. I only played the demo of that game (I regret not getting the full game, which seems to be no longer available - in the UK at least). And if they used the current Unreal engine (or their own with similar features and graphical impact)...so much the better. :)
