Jedi Knight II takes place several years after its predecessor. Kyle stumbles across the machinations of another dark Jedi. In order to stop him Kyle must face his spotty past and reclaim his Jedi heritage. Along the way he'll meet up with Luke Skywalker, go through some Jedi trials, and earn back his lightsaber. Some people might think the game is about one man's journey of self-discovery as he searches deep within his soul, but we think it's about beating up storm troopers.

Meets Luke, earns saber. hrmmmmm perhaps the trials are harder for each difficulty level u play on.

At your disposal are 13 weapons, including the E-11 Blaster rifle, thermal detonators, the Electromagnetic Pulse 2 gun, the Tenloss Disruptor rifle, detonator packs, the Bryar Blaster pistol, the stun button, and the Wookiee Bowcaster. Kyle's force powers are an amalgamation of dark and light powers, including heal, jump, push, pull, lightning, speed, mind trick, and grip.

det packs eh? awesome :) BOOM!

heal and grip. good :)

Traditional weapons each have two functions; many of secondary functions require charge time for a stronger attack

tuff stuff

Locales include many familiar and some never-seen-before sights in the Star Wars universe. You can chill out and have a Colt 45 with Lando in Cloud City. You can goof off in levitation class at the Jedi academy on Yavin. The adventurous types can mix and mingle with the seedy characters on Nar Shadaa -- the Smuggler's Moon. Other maps include streets of Bespin and the Death Star.

Death Star? WHOA!

\

MultiPlayer MODES!

Traditional multiplayer modes include Capture-the-Flag, Free-for-All, and Deathmatch. There are also some unique modes that really give the game a unique twist. In the Holocron, force powers are littered throughout the level as power-ups. The game is about destroying each other with force powers, but if you get killed, others can collect whatever powers you possessed. Jedi Master is a King-of-the-Hill-like game where there is a sole Lightsaber. Whoever controls the ancient weapon can kill anyone on the board, while the others can only gun for the master. Finally there's Capture-the-Ysalamiri, which is more strategic than Capture-the-Flag due to the creature's abilities. For those unfamiliar with the salamander-like critters, ysalamiri are animals from Myrkr that create dead zones where the force cannot be used

Holocron- Force powers only. A 'highlander' style game.

King of the Hill- Kill the rabbit :) Akin to rabbit in Tribes 2, and tag in GTA2

Capture the Yslamiri - MotS- enough said :)

WOOT!

Players can choose to make games weapons only, Lightsaber only, Light Force only, Dark Force only, and no Force powers. There are lots of great multiplayer skins, including eight types of alien races, Luke Skywalker, Lando Calrissian, and Mon Mothma. Traipsing around Deathmatches as the robe-clad and regal Mon Mothma was a particularly funny sight.

Rabbit (king of the hill) was my favourite tribes 2 multiplayer style. Just the adrenaline rush of being chased by 10+ people who all want one thing, you dead, is incredible :)

Well, that WAS my favourite, until TAC2 came out and I played chaser mode.

I like the new MP options. I was worried that normal wouldn't be changeable. Hopefully we'll see some good user end saber sparring maps.

Drool ?? You think that heals ??

Seriously, sounds great all, but I hope that's not all the skins the game will be shipped with ...

Is this a new screenshot?

Also, they weer fairly 'blah' on the graphics ... I wonder what that means ... I like RtCW, but also Elite Force - though RtCW clearly has more realistic graphics (as it should given the genre). Were they looking for better than RtCW, or are they saying JKII is worse than RtCW (or about the same) - at first I thought they were saying it was worse, but later stuff seemed to imply it was about mid-pack with the new group of Q3-based games. ... I dunno, I just looked at the E3 stuff again and also the screenshots ... somehow I doubt I'll be complaining ;)

I like the dual fire modes - and (as I asked about before) the charge-delay. While this is not a 'reality' game, things like limited ammo and charge delays make it much more challenging and enjoyable, IMO.

Also, I hope the saber draws enemy attention - while I think the idea of pulling a guard to you while he is under a mind trick than slashing him is cool, depending on the situation I think that the sound and light of the saber should be enough to draw enemy attention. Perhaps you need to mind trick him, pull him over, then ignite the saber and slash him. Just some thoughts ...

No, its a fluid used to incur slang cuss words, racial slurrs, and various insulting pieces of grammar when thrown upon the patient. ;)

Your probably going to have a skin for most of the standard enemies in the game (i.e. Stormtrooper) and probably all of the enemy Jedi you face, so expect that as well as the ones in the Gamespy article.

Waitaminute!! What's going on in the rest of the SW universe? The only time spot that we get that I remember is the very beginning of DF, the destruction of the 1st death star. Is 9 years or whatever after JK only up to RotJ?

This is more than our previous sums. Didn't we think it was 10 weaps and 7 force powers for a while? And there are 8 force powers here.

Either they talk about a death star mp map, of they confuse it with any other imperial instalation ...

I guess they meant MP map, but on the other hand, doesn't all imperial instalations have same type of architecture(with little variations)? Raven might have only shown that level briefly and of course people that perhaps have only seen SW movies, immediately think that they are on the Death Star. :deathstar

They could be building the third Death Star...

:deathstar:deathii::confused:

Anyway I'm especially looking forward to the Holocron and King of the Hill modes. It would be pretty cool to be the only one with a sabre, slashing through the opposition until they finally bring you down through sheer force of numbers. And then spawn and do the same to the ******* who took your lightsaber.

Well, if you read the preview where it details the force powers, you'll notice it doesn't give a definate number, unlike the weapons, and the word including is used when detailing the force powers.. So basically we know of the ones listed, and there could be more, unannounced powers, but I think they got the cool ones already.

I want destruction back!! Die Deadly sight and Protection :)

Impressive... Most impressive...

The only skins I'm hoping to be seen in MP are Darth Vader & Darth Maul. And maybe Boba Fett, too... But even if they wouldn't be included, it's still all good.

Damn! I can't wait to block a few laser shots from a stormy's rifle, throw the saber at him and then turn around to force push the plattoon behind me into a wall. Any survivors will be chocked or used as lightning rods. Then I'll laugh like Jabba! HOH HOH HOH hoh hoo... HOH HOH HOOO!
