AWESOME! The confuse can cause enemies to fire on each other! I take it that's the third-level one. Sounds great. This is quite a good review, full of little tidbits.

edit: and it has successfully calmed any worries I had about the game being too Quake 3-ish, and not star wars enough.

Pull: This one just plain made me laugh. Watching these poor schlubs get yanked off of their feet, right onto their stupid faces is quality entertainment.

hehehehe...can't wait.:p

And another thing...is Force Jump just going to be the jump button itself and you just hold down for a higher jump or what? That's what IGN seemed to intend. Also, the bowcaster shooting projectiles and not lasers? Um...Jedi Knight 1 it seemed to fire green laser bolts....

if you ask me, the guy did not seem very enthused about the game...hopefully that is just his preference and not a vision of what is to come.

BTW...do you think force speed will make eveything faster, ala weapons/swinging etc, or just running speed?

Hopefully only running speed will be faster(with motion blurred runner) and it also seems that Raven is very faithfull to the way TPM introduced this power:

Speed: Get that extra burst when you need it most.

If I understood this correctly, no more ridiculous Road Runners. ;)

Oh my GOSH.

Of course, what would the game be without a good bit of enemies to fight? Unlike the woeful Obi Wan on the Xbox, Jedi Knight II looks to have plenty of baddies for all us to dig into. There was hardly a dull moment in any of the levels I was shown. And the enemies won't be entirely stupid either. When attacking you, enemies will rush to combat points around you in order to surround and pin you into bad areas. There are defensive retreat points and offensive attack points with which each of the enemy AIs can decide to use.

Morale plays a big factor in how the bad guys will react as well. In most FPSs you encounter, everybody in a room will fight until the death without question and without running away. Not so in this case. When troopers are traveling in groups with a commander in the ranks they'll feel much more confident about themselves and won't waver. Kill their commander however and you may suddenly have an unsure group of soldiers on your hands. Take out a few more of the soldiers and you may just find the enemies starting to retreat and head to defensive positions or just plain running away. It's a small touch, but one that looks cool and makes you feel pretty good about yourself. Similarly, if you walk towards soldiers while carrying a lightsaber and start flinging some force around, their morale is going to drop a bit compared to what would happen if you were just firing at them with a gun. Nobody likes to fight a Jedi, especially not one with a beard.

What I've seen of the levels so far is pretty nice. Textures and architecture look perfect for the Star Wars universe -- everything from the distinct Empire lit stairways to bars full of bizarre aliens. There's some creativity and basic puzzle solving along with some incredible firefights and neat-o weapons effects. Even the lightsaber causes scarring on the walls and objects when it accidentally brushes them.

The sound in the game also looks solid at this point. No One Lives Forever certainly looks to have made an impression throughout the industry in general with their style of immersion and storytelling. As in that game, many of the creatures and enemies you'll encounter in Jedi will be talking and thinking about other things before you show up and ruin their day. In the very first level of the game, you'll sneak up on a pair of Stormtroopers. One of them is a couple of weeks away from retirement and is talking to a buddy about it. So sad he's going to have to retire early. But that's the kind of thing you can expect when moving through the game.

Holy ****ing monkeys!! O.O That AI sounds AWESOME!!!!!

I thought that Preview from IGN was the best that I've seen yet! It went into nice detail about the game and over pretty much all general questions I thought.

that, combined with the gamespot review, is cool... with 3 levels of force powers and stances this games is gonna be much more interesting.

assigning force points in MP is gonna make it varied from most other FPS games, as you won't know who has which powers, and to what level.

Confuse and Choke/Throw are gonna rule ;)

Choke got me really excited. I can imagine just stading in a stance staring at each other and thne u choke them and start whacking the off wall, wait for jhim tio get back up and wahck off the other wall, then pull him to u and then push to knock him down and then jsut keep pushing him to the ground then finishing him off with lgihtning..... hehe :D:lightning

Imagine if u got all of these up to full, u'd be one hell of a pwoerful enemy. no need for guns now as darth vader explained to us all... and u didn't believe it did u.

Let's see, neither choke nor lightning will be too stealthy, so I guess we'd have to use confuse and then come up to them and slash them to bits if there's a stormtrooper contingent close by.
