MasterLord_Maul
Will this game have positional shooting . I mean if you shoot them in the leg they will limp or in the arm they are holding the weapon they will drop it. Even better in the head mean instant death or it the chest. I dout this will be in the game . Just a question
Moses
Yes actually it will. They really haven't given us that many details on it, except that it will use the same technology as Soldier of Fortune II. There are a ton of different hit zones in SoF2, so it stands to reason that they will all be in JKII. I think on one of the early previews it did say a hit in the leg would make you limp, and that arms would be able to be sliced off and such, but I'm not sure of anything beyond that. Kestral
SKO will have per-poly hit detection, a great step up from mere positional damage.

JPMaximilian
Isn't the 'positional hitting' what the GHOUL 2 system is all about?

JPMaximilian
Originally posted by Kestral Per poly hit detection is years ahead of positional damage. Thats sort of what I meant. Anyway, does this new system mean that if you shoot someone in the foot 50 times they still won't die? That would be more realistic. Sure, they might bleed to death, but I think its corny when you can kill something by shooting it enough times in a non-vital area.
Redwing
Ya, it's the "kill the Executor with a hand blaster" complex...I hope that's avoided in JKII.
Kestral
Heh. I can imagine shooting at the granddaddy of super star destroyers, the Eclipse, with the bryar until it blew up. That would be a movie worth making.

Head shots etc will cause more damage, but they wont affect it physically....so there is no gore..........in SOF2 will there actually be physical affects like legs off etc?? Millions o' Monkeys
yeah as far as ive understood thats the plan, But there might possibly be slight amounts of blood
CaptainRAVE
I think there should be a passworded parental option so that they can turn off gore for the younger audeience.....This has been done in many games like Half-Life and Quake III

dazilla
The thing is, a game is always rated by what it's like with gore ON and basically what's the worst it can be. Unless they made it that if an adult bought it it would come with a gore option and if a kid bought it it would come with gore off and only a special key that a parent could get would turn it on...or something like that anyway. acdcfanbill
one thing, a sabre wouldnt produce that much blood, it would cauterize....
Moses
Bet that's handy for the ratings eh acd?
acdcfanbill
actualy, i hope it is handy, and allows for many things to be severed. dont worry, there will most likely be and Uber Blood mod anyway
Redwing
BTW...*a bit confused here* Will JO have positional damage, or per poly detection? I know I read about this somewherez or other...but I forgot...*shrug*
Frosty_V2.1
Isn't per poly collision detection used to determine the exact location when an object e.g saber hits another object? this is where GHOUL2 would come in for the administering positional damage and dismemberment zones
