S1DC
The CSFB has produced independent sales estimates of the rivaling consoles -- Microsoft’s Xbox, Sony’s PlayStation 2, and Nintendo’s GameCube. Sony continues to holds its lead in the console sales by only 28,000 unties, having sold 962,000 PlayStation 2 consoles between November 11 and December 8. Microsoft has sold 934,000 Xbox consoles since November 15th, beating the GameCube’s sold units of 602,000 since its launch date the 18th. As you can see, sales of the Xbox are going better than industry analysts predicted, saying Nintendo would crush Microsoft like a bad habit, and Sony would continue to leave both in the dust. Well, while I was in Wal-Mart yesterday, 3 people bought Xbox and only one person bought a PS2. Miyazaki | Tuesday, December 25th at 2:44 PM I'd just like to state that the same people (whoever they are) who are giving us these lies (the numbers are wrong) say Luigi's Mansion sold more than Halo. How could a game that has a 600,000 userbase sell more than a game with a 900,000 userbase? Because the numbers are wrong. And I'd rather believe Nintendo's numbers over some "NPDFunworld." Bobby- Oh and by the way, Xbox will sell at least 15 million units in 2002. 2002 is Xbox's year. So is 2003,2004, 2005, and 2006. Keep dreaming blind fanboy. I'd be surprised if the Xbox sold 10 million units next year. I guess I should let you dream on, though, even if you're wrong. mime69 | Friday, December 21st at 6:02 PM well im not really surprised.. people didnt start to buy the xbox bacuse the PS2 had more fame .. lets face the xbox is 2 times a vcr ... it didnt seem the practical thing to buy when it came out. But now... pat355 | Friday, December 21st at 1:01 PM I work at a CC and the xbox's have beens going off the shelfs the day that we get them shipped in, it doesnt surprise me that they are selling so fast, im currious if xbox had that extra time from nov 8th to nov 14th to sell if it could of beat out sony in sales?? I think yes. Any ways our shelves are stocked with PS2s but the xboxs are flying off those shelfs. All i hear customers saying are WOW! check out those graphics, and then a few minutes later they are asking a sales person about them and then after a few stat comparisons between the three systems, arround two thirds are taking xbox. Q1 of 2002? my prediction is XBOX will be the winner........ asdf Ok, folks. Based on these analysts, what do you think will come out in the lead? Vote, and then post your reason. And none of this "PS2 RULES! XBOX IS POOP!" or "GAMeCUBE IS THE BOMB!" or "XBOX IS THE ONE AND ONLY SYSTEM ALIVE!" crap. Just some good facts. S1DC
Despite my high expectations for the Xbox, PS2 still has more game and a larger following. So the first quarter will be PS2s by about 50-60k units. However, the economic outlook for xbox is growing MUCH FASTER than the PS2's outlook. This is based mainly on the fact that microsoft is gaining more developers, and even grabbing games from PS2 and GC. This means games like Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Grand Theft Auto, and Gran Turismo becoming multi-platform.
CaptainRAVE
Even though I dont like the PS2 it has sold better.....but it still sucks compared with the PC>>>>>>Max Payne for example has needed its graphics reduced by half and it still has really low frame rates of the PS2. They all rushed the consoles to get them out at the same time, and so they werent as. I was going to buy a console, but now im just going to get a GeForce 3 Ti 500 and a 24 inch monitor when JK2 comes out
S1DC
Theres no point in comparing PC to console, seeing in as how Console is the smaller version of the last quarters technology for non-pc lovers. PC will always be better, so don't bother comparing. And what are you taling about them being rushed? PS2 was in development for 4 years. Xbox has been in the hardware development alone for 3. Gamecube was the only systme rushed out, like always. Nintendo has NEVER hit a release date on time, or with promised specs.
Redwing
They're all consoles...that means I don't care. *is hoping for RS2 on PC, and if that doesn't happen, oh well, he'll still have Jedi Knight II *

Rogue15
if it's not delayed, there'll be some bugs for people like you and redwing to complain about.
