Hi!! I'm back!

I see that my server is slow as a snail with too many users :)

The good news is that I just saw the video and it's OK!!!

I'll share it in morpheus too... I will let the name as "uk_final mix.mov".

I'll wait until tomorrow, 'cos the output bandwidth is shared with my www space :)

Hey Magnum2, thanks again for letting us use that server, I should have this eve EST, if we have around 4 or 5 sharing in morpheus people will be able to d/l in probably an hour or so.

thanks again.

EDIT: Woo hoo I'm a sith probe droid now, does anyone know the progression from Banta Fodder on up?

Banta Fodder

Pit Droid

Sith Probe Droid

no one knows

BTW i cancelled my download, lol it was gonna take too long, better to have folks like ps2 get it sooner so i can get it from then and mirror it in the USA.

Also, Blokie, i couldnt find it on morpheus, i think the search is nerfed or something

Also you cannot search by user which is really STUPID IMHO

I agree but if you were with Morpheus at the infancy of the program, people were figuring out how to change thier user name after they already logged into the master server so it allowed them to d/l without sharing......which defeats the purpose of a file sharer, but just as a kicker Morpheus added an option "do not share files" in the last release which totally defeats the purpose, so you get a ton of leechers either way.

Maybe some on this thread have it in thier shared folder but aren't sharing any files? Check your options in Morpheus guys.

Sorry TUS_Tomcat, here are the stats:

Official site trailer:

Size - 3.3Mb

Duration - 1:11

Video - 320x240

Audio - 44.1Khz, Mono, 16 bits (and compressed)

PC Gamer trailer:

Size - 91.7Mb

Duration - 2:21

Video - 360x270

Audio - 48Khz, Stereo, 16 bits

So seems the sound improvement is the main reason for higher file size...

And yeah of course you can present it nicely full screen with Quick Time Pro, but it's still stretched :)

Hmm, that seems like a very big file just for those small additions, I wonder if they made it big to discourage sharing since alot of people still use dial up??

Could be... besides, it's a interlaced video, that means that they used the VIDEO output of their 3D card, then captured it again (?!)

It's not a HQ video of what they get in the screen, it's a cr*ppy capture of a tv quality display... pity... may the force buy them a proper screengrabber ;)

Did anyone see it like it has too much brightness? That what I mean for cr*ppy. The scenes are way cool!!! (although nothing really new... except maybe for the force speed in SP)

I think that the video could be smaller, or knowing that was for a cd, make a better job in the image quality department... too much sound quality that doesn't add nothing really... why stereo? why 44Khz? mono 22Khz should be enough... I prefer image in this case...

Anyway... having this is better than nothing, but next time make it more serious, guys... :)

All that seems wierd, but you are right that it lacks professionalism, if that was done in the PC Gamer US many people here would be complaining about the quality and being ripped off. Do you guys from the UK care? (I am wondering because the UK reviews beta copies and the US doesn't, so right there you can see the difference in consumer input.)

At any rate I am not going to complain about a shared video :)

People!!!

I have recompressed the video, without sound, trimmed the blahblah useless part, and sorenson3 as the video codec (the one QT5 uses)

It looks almost the same, at least in my machines is, except that it seems a little darker.

It size is (15.3MB) so PLEASE, please, someone thas has that webspace mirror it!

I haven't put any link in the page yet, but this link is all you need!

edit: put the link, and the official 3.3MB trailer

Also, for those few who haven't QT5, is there too. Just go to

JKII on the other hand is something totally new. New weapons, force powers, a STORY, and one hell of a lightsaber. If people don't flock to this game, I'll be very surprised. In fact, it's one of the few games that does stand a chance to get players from the half-life community.

No, it's not new. Jedi Knight did it back in late 97/early 98. Players did not flock from the established Q2 communities at the time, and the community remained relatively small.

At the time, Jedi Knight offered a lot to the genre. It had the force and the light saber. Half Life did nothing but perpetuate the genre, though widely popular. HL didn't have anything that differentiated from Q2 before it, or Q1 before that.

The only other FPS to really add something new was Tribes, the first true 3d FPS. Tribes probably had the steepest learning curve of any FPS so far, and it was extremely fast and furious. It allowed for easy customization and scripting, it utilized vehicles, had three armor classes, an "inventory" setup, and had deployables. Oddly enough, many of the old JK competitive community (IRN, Atomic, JaG, SLJ, DH, FOG, etc) went on to play competitively in T1.

The next step would be a FPS squad-based game that fully utilized ground troops and vehicles, not centered around CTF, but possibly MMORPG.

sorry im too lazy to quote, but ut2 is somewhat like that, and somewhat not related at all from what ive heard....im too lazy to go into too much detail, but ut2 will be much more like the likes of halo with a little little mmorpg mixed into it...while im not completely sure (and no one will be till june), this sounds somewhat like what you are talking about (correct me if im wrong, as usual)

EDIT: BTW, your sig still looks like a geodude

Hmmm, I personally loved both Elite Force and RTCW, I guess it is all in the eye of the beholder......... But you are right, if you didn't enjoy these 2 you probably will be disappointed with JO, I know I am going to love it since I love those others.

I fail to see this logic. Comparing a game like JO (which I would think is most likely going to be like JK) to RtCW or EF is downright silly. JO will have force powers and about twice as many game types. A person's thoughts on EF on RtCW will most likely have no bearing on whether someone likes JO or not. I would be concerned with someone who disliked JK, rather than EF or RtCW.

indeed...rtcw left me with a foul taste in my mouth....it was not as good as i had hoped for...after beating it without difficulty in the hardest mode, i really did not see the point of anything...there was just no drive for me to get out there and play it...that feeling i DID feel with jk way back when in 98...i have a pretty good feeling that jko will be addictive for me...from what ive heard, ef is just as dissapointing....sigh....i truly hope that jko wont suffer the fate of these other q3 based titles...

Ok, think I might have found it. I'm the fourth one in line, and as soon as I grab it and check to see if it's the real deal, I'll trow it in my Morpheus folder. I'd tell you where I found it, but if I did you'd all slow my connection down ;).

oh the drama!
