ChewBECKa
Now that we know the new civs and discussion has started about them...how about discussing the most necessary changes or biggest priorities for tweaking the existing gameplay in the X Pack. There are 2 things to me that need some serious adjusting. Air units and Jedi. These were the most dissapointing aspects of the game to me. The air units are nothing more than ranged units that hover in place on a second plane and the jedi aren't much more than the AOE monks with a melee attack. The air units should act more like planes and other aircraft in other RTs games where they remain in a hangar type structure and then are called in for an attack. Once their ammo is out or health dips to a specific level they should return to base to re-supply or get repaired. They should constantly be moving in a typical Star Wars, fluid dogfight movements, not hovering in place. Also, the attacks from these units against ground units should be more spectacular (especially the bombers). The Jedi need to be much more dynamic. They should use different attacks like forcepush, choke, etc. and alternate between converting and fighting. They should be a standout fighter, but they really aren't much more than a AOE monk with a lightsaber and more health. Just my opinon..what do you all think? As far as the new civs...should've contained more, and should've included more alien races (Trandoshan, Mon Calamari, etc. even a full Ewok civ so we can kill 'em )
Booya2020
Im guessing that Lucasarts will add new techs, and perhaps a new unit class as well.
chrisw_30
I would like to see the jedi use forcepowers as well....
Guest DarthMaulUK
You can actually garrision air units in a hangar. Do this in the same way when you put troopers into a Fortress. DMUK >>> the NEW GB.com is coming <<
gl33gar
You're right about how the aircraft should move, and yes, bombers should do bombing runs (carpet bombing) and the bombs should look like the blueish-white bombs dropped by TIE Bombers at the asteroids in Empire Strikes Back. There could be a new aircraft class that hovers above its target, the Gunship. Naval turrets and aa turrets would be great as well...
Diversion
Look at FC, one can diss Force Commander about much but they got the Air Units absolutely right.

JediMasterEd
it would be nice if they would fly out of the hangar for a specific task (Interception, Strike, Bombing runs) and maybe add a limited amount of Secondary Weapons (X-Wings, N-1's, Wookiee fighters; Proton Torps) and give the bombers lasers for god sakes! maybe they'll add another fighter group. Hvy. Assult Craft like the B-Wing, Naboo Bomber in BfN on the N64/PC, Tie Adv. X-1, Trade Federation Bomber form BfN on the N64/PC, and something for the Gungans and Wookiees. Sithcloak
If they add new units or change the old ones i have a few ideas: (A). Fighters bonus vs. air is lowered and a new class called interceptor is created. Its sole purpose is for anti-air. Fighters are now anti ground and get a small bonus vs. mechs, but still retain some anti-air power. (B). The price of Knights and Masters brought a little closer together and they switch speeds but Masters conversion is a little more powerfull. ©. Gaurds, a new unit you build at your Jedi Temple and are Anti-Bounty hunter units. I will still buy the expansion and be perfectly happy even if these ideas are not implemented. Guest PhantomMenace
I think jedi are perfectly powerful and chaotic enough thank you. They dont need to be jacked up anymore. Obviously this guy has never seen a good jedi rush or seen 2 jedi masters tag teamin with each other converting all your AT-AT's and MTT's and usin em against you. Jedi stand up real well in laser fire, most repeater troopers go down in 2 shots. Jedi dont need to be improved anymore, you just need to invest in some jedi upgrades. I think aircraft are fine the way they are; you just need to learn to use them correctly. When was the last time you heard of an F-15 leveling a city or a facility all by itself. Real fighters are good at killing other planes, troops and weak structures and lightly armored vehicles which is exactly what the aircraft in this game do. I agree with you on the bomber; those green splooges look funny, but i dont know if a blue splooge is gonna look any better. I just thought of a cool idea though and here goes; how bout a heavy weapon that lays mines. You know it could be a zamboni looking vehicle that was slow, heavily armored and could not attack, but would drop line mines that would be hidden from the enemy just like the spider mines in Starcraft. You could que up the mines inside the vehcile the same way you qued'ed up scarabs inside the protoss reaver in Starcraft! What do ya think? Also, i would really like to know if the new cruiser aircraft was a result of my idea about an anti-air aircraft/ interceptor aircraft.
Guest PhantomMenace
Sithcloak i already posed the idea of an interceptor class waay back so stop biting off me and get your own original ideas. And they already have aa turrets gl33gar.
gl33gar
PhantomMenace, I DID say NAVAL turrets and aa turrets. With that I mean both naval turrets and naval aa turrets.
Rogue15
guard units could be: Gamorreans Emperor's Royal Guards Senate Guards Gungan Guard The red battle droid (cause he's a security droid) and about all of them could use melee attacks. The royal guards and senate guards get force pikes, gamorreans get battle axes, gungan guards get the battle staff...
Com Raven
I think that correct air units would be too difficult ot implement correctly in such an negine....
Sithcloak
PhantomMeanace I don't remember you saying anything but i have read so many threads that maybe i saw it, put it in the back of my head, later missinterripted it and thought it as my own idea and posted it. Sorry, I really am. Rouge15 good ideas. Sithcloak
Compa_Mighty
I'd like another x-pack with more alien civs. It could be: Galactic Battlegrounds: The Aliens It would feature: -Mon Calamari -Trandoshans -Geonosians It would be cool.
