Perhaps thats to the left in the 2nd shot, or where you're standing. The room is very much the same. Door shapes, wall textures, lines, it's all the same. Which leads to me to believe this is a map from the Jedi Duel MP mode, where people can look on. It appears you can either look on in spectator fly mode, or stand up the top and watch mode.... Perhaps the top area is for the next player to fight.... Thoughts? Any ideas on what you'd like to happen in this mode? Personally, this is probably what I'll be playing online most of the time.

It'd be cool if the spectators could play a game of sabacc or hone their skills with a droid while they wait. I won't play this *all* the time, but it seems like it will be a fun, gladiator-esque mode that will be on a bunch of servers. You will definitely be able to find out who is the supreme Jedi Master of the land through this mode. Can't wait for the first tourney! Swoosh

nykel007 Posted February 22, 2002 Posted February 22, 2002 It seemes that you can view combatants as they fight from the rooom where kyle is. As for the fighters it seems that you can fight either on the elevated area or on the ground. Mabye these area can be reach by jumping on and off.

BTW, i also wonder if the server can alter the number of fighters... say, instead of making it a 16 people server where 14 wait, 2 duel, or something, he makes it that there are 2v2s, while 12 folks can spectate... BTW this will be one of my fav modes too, but I'm also looking forward to Jedi Master mode, but i also wanna... and i gotta... oh and i really wanna see the... and that... !!!!!!!!! i want this game!

GonkH8er Posted February 22, 2002 Author Posted February 22, 2002 I noticed that, and my thoughts are its either A) A newer version of the map B) SP map has the jut and MP doesn't, or vice versa C) It's there, but it's above one of the other parts to the side that we can see in the LEC shot.
Cyclone Posted February 22, 2002 Posted February 22, 2002 They are definately the same map. The "jetting out" room in the first pic, is the room where Kyle is standing in the second pic. Look at kyle's feet in the second pic. He is standing on the glass floor. You can see some of the "center platform" base through the glass. I tried to outline in red the areas which show this. Notice how in first pic, the line on the wall matches up with the floor of the jetting out room. But in the second pic, they don't line up. Thats because of the jetting out. I also tried to outline the raised floor of the central platform (not the glass top, but under the glass, that floor is also raised) Cyclone I'm gonna go practice on Heretic II for a while so I can get my "3rd person" light saber/Heretic pole skills down. I will then be able to trounce everyone else on the JKII servers when the game is release (or at least for the first few days)

And I'd bet that they are all part of Luke's Jedi Academy based in that Massassi Temple where the Rebellion had their base at the destruction of the first Death Star. Looks like that girl made a boo boo in the floor on that first pic Gonk posted. I also think that this is part of that Massassi Temple, in multiplayer as well. Probably a different session though: I think Kyle is gonna win that one.

Cyclone Posted February 23, 2002 Posted February 23, 2002 This last pic is definately a mirror not a clone. You can see the Q3A engine corruption at the edges of the doorway. I'm not going to try and color up this one, but see the two "pole" like structures just inside the "hallway". Those are just mirrored reflectons of the walls. The corruption is the "see through" space between the reflection and the actual wall. You can even see the line in the floor where the mirror textured wall hits the floor. Funny thing is that the light saber is in the wrong hand. Cyclone Hmm, Q3A does have "portals", bah, I doubt this is a portal.
Darth Lunatic Posted February 23, 2002 Posted February 23, 2002 That's not a mirror. His saber is in the wrong hand in the mirror. Unless it's some kind of fancy high tech star wars mirror that refelcts the image that other human beings would percieve when they look at you.

[/b] I think this is from the SP game, when Kyle goes to the academy to learn about the Jedi arts. Somewhere (PC Gamer Review I think) it said that the training levels don't come until you reach that point in the game (level 5 or something). This could be like the fight training in Oni, where you see someone doing something, then try to copy them??
