Schmatz
Yeah, and if you use too many filters, Mettalus will be on your ass in a hearbeat "DO IT YOURSELF DONT BE PREFAB!" Trust me I've been honored with the experience Oh, hey Met

Thrik
The only filters I ever use are light source, drop shadow and inner/outer glow
Metallus
I don't have any problem with layer "effects" such as drop shadows, bevels, glows, etc., because in Photoshop they make them so versatile that figuring out how to use them to their full potential requires a bit of skill. The "filters", for the most part aren't very good to use, simply because they aren't very adjustible and end up looking very much the same, making them easily recognizable by other PSers.
