For those who are now lost, allow myself to explain:

I built my current computer just about 4 years ago. It's general specs are:

Pentium 2, 333 Mhz MMX

192 MB SD RAM

5 Gig Hard Drive

18 Gig Hard Drive

ATI Rage Pro AGP Video Card w/ 32 MB Video RAM

SoundBlaster PCI 64

56k Fax/data/voice modem

50X CD ROM

4X8X24 CD W,RW Drive

Case power supply was only 250W

Notice the Pentium 2 (Tech Lvl 2, see where this is going? ;) )

But as of Yesterday, I have new parts on order, and here are what the new specs will be:

Pentium 4, 1.8 GHz 512k Cache

SOYO P4S DRAGON ULTRA Motherboard

256 MB PC2100 DDR RAM 266 MHz

New Case with a 400W Power Supply

My Video card, Hard Drives and CD Rom drives will transfer over to the new Computer.

And to top it all off, in May I'm switching to DSL :D

So I'm going to Tech Lvl 4 (Metaphorically speaking)

I'm SOOOooo Psyched!!!! Everything should be in by this weekend.

Look out World I'm back in the fast lane, at least for the next 6 months anyways

:p

I hate you.

J/k, but really, i've been wanting a new computer for the longest time. My current specs stand at this:

PentiumII 450mhz

17" Trinitron moniter (15.9" viewable)

224mb SDRAM 100mhz

10GB hard-drive

2GB hard-drive

NVidia TNT 16mb video card

Sound Blaster

32X CD-ROM and DVD drive

8-8-32X CDRW drive

I bought it stock several years ago from Gateway and upgraded it. It was top-of the line at the time.

My dream computer would be:

Pentium4 2.0Ghz

512mb DDRAM 233Mhz

80GB hard-drive

NVidia GeForce4 Ti6400 128mb video card (i wish :D)

and all the other normal stuff

but thats only a dream.....right now i'll be satisfied with a computer that runs JKII...

As a low money student ... I'm pretty proud I have this:

AMD Thunderpird 1,2 Ghz

15" monitor

256mb RAM 10GB hard-drive

20GB hard-drive

NVidia Geforce2 32 mb

Sound Blaster

DVD drive

Logitech Cordless / optical desktop

Logitech Wingman Extreme

Canon scanner (can'see type nr on the top)

Canon S520 color printer

Maybe that explains the low money part ...

Yeah, I waited on purpose for the RAMBUS crap to run it's course.

Anyways, speaking of Memory, it came in yesterday. 1 item down, 2 to go!

By the way, just a tip for anyone looking into buying a P4 processor in the near future, make sure you opt for the new 512k cache on the chip. Standard is 256k, it was only a $3 difference for myself, and I have a feeling it will more than pay for itself in the future.

By the way YD, I think your on to something with that why your a "low money Student" thing :p
