Pada-Wan
I thought he died, but my friend said in the books he survives the monster. how???
DreamKilla84
I think in books, and according to official Star Wars website, he was able to survive because of the sarlacc. The sarlacc kept him alive to slowly digest him. While it was doing this it used it's toxins to keep Fett incoherent and drugged. Eventually Fett was able to gain his senses and blasted out of the sarlacc. He was however seroulsy hurt and his armor was seroulsy damaged. He was found by a fellow bounty hunter and nursed back to health. Hope this answers your question.

Dough with Fish
To further clarify what Dream said... The Sarlacc didn't start to digest Boba right a way, because of the seven or eight that had already fallen in, it was getting its fair share of protien. While it did inject him with toxins that kinda put him in a drousy and trance-like state, it didn't start to digest him right away, it just did that merely to set him a side so he wouldn't cause any problems. While the toxins would normally have a near fatal effect on most people, we must remember that Boba had a few nerves removed, so as to not have anything like that kill him, just daze him. When he came too, his rocket pack was all but operational, so he could not fly out. He tried climbing, but the creature kept swatting him back down. So, as a last resort, he pulled out a thermal detonator, and stuck it in the creature, and just waited for it to go off. And when it did, booyah, a good old fashioned Sarlacc BBQ! But after the shockwave from the blast let down, and he woke up from getting knocked out by it, his armor was very damaged, but still repairable, and he had one hell of a migraine. Pedantic
I think that Boba did die. He probably died the same way he went in...screaming like a pansy.
Micozade
To further add what has already been said . It was dengar who recovered him from the sarlaac , if it wasnt for dengar keeping him alive he would have perished but dengar did see bobas face for the first time because his helmet was destroyed . Hope this helps as well
C'jais
Just to clarify a few things: Boba fett wasn't a great actor, a great role and neither did he kill or capture anyone Don't trust the EU, it isn't Lucas, it isn't starwars. Boba fett died. end of story.

TheMadDoofer
In "Tales of the Bounty Hunters" Fett uses his concussion-grenade launcher to blow himself out of it, where he is then rescued by Dengar.
eben15
So he basically sets off a grenade in his own face. Nice to know he's just as stupid in the books as he is in the movie. I wouldn't be surprised if the face that dengar saw was forrest gump's. Imagine if Fett's line were spoken with Gump's voice: my bounties are like a box of chocolates:D The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and goodwill , shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness , for he is truly his brother keeper , and the finder of lost children , and I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers! And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee!
Fossil25
he was probably desperate and didn't give a da mn anymore, stuffed the detonator in to kill the monster with him, and then woke up alive.
