for me, i would say i agree that i believe the Force exists , well maybe not to that extend of the movies, but in terms of 6th sense and able to see things in slow mo....

Happened to me several times while i was playing soccer where the ball would be flying straight into my face at killer speed.... everything just slows down when i focus on the ball and then just lean away from it, letting it brush by my ear.... the strangest thing abt this is that theres no sound when it flys by... no whoosh , no nothing... anyone else have this occuring?

If you want to believe, then you will believe, regardless of what any evidence might say.

And Picasso, people can lift heavy objects that they normally wouldn't be able to, when their body is flooded with adrenaline and other endorphins. It's called science and biology, not magic and hokey nonsense needed.

I'm getting the feeling that some of the people in this thread are the kind that look at a potato chip, and see something vaguely resembling a human face, and immediatly proclaim that it is the face of God - except in this case your object of affection is the so-called "Force". I know the idea of there being a "Force" is romantic and exciting, but until there is any verifiable, reproducable evidence that it exists, you'd be better served to spend your energies getting an education and becoming a productive member of real-life society.

Listen, I see God is my Ruffles all the time, damnit! And Charleton Heston in my Pringles!

Picasson, in addition to the adrenalin, you're probably simply stronger than you think you are. I know I think I'm a wuss, but all my friends and girlfriend claim I'm a lot stronger than I look, and nobody messes with me. It's a self-esteem thing, really. ;)

i think plenty of the hardcore star wars fans decided to focus on their obsession rather than get a top-notch education and become productive members of society.

i'm not trying to insult anyone, i'm just saying that anybody could take the time they spend posting here and instead use it to make the world a better place.

once i opened the fridge and spilled a container of cottage cheese on the floor. the stuff splattered everywhere, but the majority of it formed a shape vaguely resembling the head of elvis presley. was that the force?! who knows...

The difference between most religions and Star Wars is that most religions claim to be geniune revelations from a deity, guru, or supernatural source, whereas Star Wars's creator claims that it is fiction created for commercial entertainment purposes.

As far as I'm concerned, you can't prove anybody's religion is true of false, unless they make natural (not supernatural) claims that are testable. However, if the founder admits it's all fake or is revealed to be a conman, I think that shines some doubt on that belief system, otherwise I'll keep an open mind. But this isn't L. Ron Hubbard we're talking, it's Lucas!

The UK, Australia or whatever other country did NOT recognize "Jedi" or "the Force" as a religion. That's nothing but an urban legend. Some people thought they'd put "Jedi" as their "religion" on a census or two, but the rest is wishful thinking, and I can post links later if anybody wants to (or if they just want to consult About.com's urban legends archive, they can be my guest!).

The ONLY way I can see a person legitimately getting "a religion" out of Star Wars is in the form of myth (in the anthropological sense of course, as in a story that teaches something about life or the natural of life), using the stories to teach lessons about moral principles they believe in (I'm talking a religion based on star wars), otherwise you're going to have a lot of disapointed jedi-wannabe's who can't even lift a stone with their mind. Think about it. ; )

I really believe it can be true. Apart from the stuff said before bout religions and chi and stuff, I believe in it. I don't know if moving stuff with mind, but somethings can be done. Sometimes, something pops up inside my head, and I begin thinking of it, and it happen!!I don't wanna think anymore. It's unvoluntarily, it just pops up. It's weird, man. Like the time the feeling my best friend ****ed me up with my girl, and a few minutes later at school she dumped me!!! And I thought our relation was so good...And the time I asked myself why my swimming pool was empty, and some seconds later, I asked my dad and said it was full!!!I didn't think bout the pool in all summer! Just to name a few... Mind trick is no so hard to do, the person doesn't even have to hear you... Coincidence? I don't think so...
