So let me get this straight, the person who fires rockets into a crowd of Padawan level bots the fastest wins?

plus you have to use default kb mouse settings. no binds, scripts or changes. I am at 12 kills in a min and almost under a min. Problem is, you cant count on a crowd being available for you to fire into...sometimes no one is in the area.

Plus...you got 9 days to play and 2 scores to put up each day so if you tie your next best score is use...object is to get as many 1 min matches in as possible and you have to use the out of the box version no patches.

How does this work? I thought you just connected to one of their servers, you don't actually have to go into a Gateway store to play do you? The reason I ask is, how would they force a client to use a default cfg file?

/edit, nevermind, I just saw the "play at any Gateway store thing".

I think the contest is pretty stupid. It is obvious that the people have no idea what the game is really like. All you have to do is jump inbetween a group of battling bots and backstab. I think they are not aware of the somewhat more complex nature of the players out there. Killing bots takes no skill. I think that if they were to have a proper contest they should have dueling contests between players. Maybe sign up for times and be there(although that would be more difficult and inconvenient)However, I guess that if killing bots gets you money and a GeForce 4 than go for it, otherwise i think that's it's just about advertisement, and obviously not about the game.

I don't mean to sound like a geeky Jedi Knight Fanatic:D

Actually if your going around backstabbing the bots, you won't have a good enough time to even be close to winning. Forget your saber in this contest, it is all about getting the rocket launcher and blasting the crowds.

My best time was 1 minute 12 seconds out of like 30 games I played. That time where it was 1 minute 12 seconds, I was lucky enough to find a hallway that consisted of 6 bots fighting each other so I rocketed them to death.

Gateway did something similar when Nascar 2002 was released.

You had to play on their computer, at the store, using their settings.

You got to run a 3 lap race against BRUTALLY SLOW opponents. You started in last place, and had 3 laps to turn the fastest lap you could. It didn't matter where you finished, you just had to turn fast laps.

The whole thing was just pathetic...lol

I tried it, but got wiped out by the AI drivers. The unpatched version of Nascar 2002 had SERIOUS AI glitches.

For example, at the start of the race, random cars would suddenly turn sharp left and dive into the infield grass for no reason. Too bad for you if one happens to hit you (which happened to me)
