MasterD-LeyAmas Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 Of course everyone is quick to jump to Yoda. He is the wisest on the Jedi Council, perhaps in the existence of the Jedi Council. But what can you say to the fact that Darth Sidious masterminded the overthrow of the galactic republic, and nearly the defeat of the Rebellion? The guy really had his stuff together, and Yoda never sees it coming. I'm not a Sith lover, that's just the way it is.
MasterD-LeyAmas Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 Hey, Yoda's the man (the little green man), but, Sidious did manage to outsmart him, and everyone else in the Jedi Order and the Republic.
HellFyre69 Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 hey guys master has a point there Sidious gets my vote =)

Yep Very smart thinking I never even thought to consider him, I wish to change my vote.
greedo626 Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 hhhmmmm... sidious or yoda... it would seem that yoda is wiser and sidious just more cunning... maybe:confused:
MasterD-LeyAmas Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 Poses an interesting question, doesn't it? Anyone else care to comment one way or the other?
Pedro The Hutt Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 Sidious is wise in the art of manipulating people ^.^ Yoda would never use his wisdom for such things.
Kit fisto JK Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 ok if sidious is the emperer then it was his wise decision to hurt luke in front of vader after telling luke to kill vader and getting him thrown to his death so I am still the wisest and Yoda is second.
Zindell Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 Sidious was able to fool Yoda, Sidious is wiser and more cunning. Yoda supplied Sidious with his clone army. Sidious fooled him into going to get it.
MasterD-LeyAmas Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 Well, no, knowledge is how much you know, wisdom is what you do with what you know. We're still debating about wisdom here. Sidious did make mistakes toward the end, in RoTJ, make no doubt. But the argument here is between him and Yoda, not his actions at the end of the film.
Zindell Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 That was just one example. Yoda could not foresee palpatine's plan, He fooled everyone and became chancellor, he fooled everyone so they made him emperor. He is their Dictator now and nobody saw it coming. Not even yoda.

Uhh...where did you find that definition of wisdom? In my mind wisdom is a completely different thing...
Pvt_Dancer Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 wis·dom Pronunciation Key (wzdm) n. The ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting; insight. Common sense; good judgment: “It is a characteristic of wisdom not to do desperate things” (Henry David Thoreau). The sum of learning through the ages; knowledge: “In those homely sayings was couched the collective wisdom of generations” (Maya Angelou). Wise teachings of the ancient sages. A wise outlook, plan, or course of action. I would have to say that both Yoda and Sidious are wise in their respective sides of the Force. Palpatines mistake was choosing the dark side which always turns in upon itself. And although Sidious may have hidden himself successfully from Yoda, Yoda was able to survive the Jedi slaughter and train successors which would become the downfall of Sidious. Yoda has plenty of wisdom... he was just more patient with it.
Kit fisto JK Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 and now that pvt_Dancer has cleared that up I am the wisest and I was right
Lime-Light Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 you keep posting..... how is this allowed to happen?
