leXX
I just watched ESB again and I have a question. Obi Wan keeps saying that he was trained by Yoda but in TPM it is Qui Gon who trains him. Was Obi Wan trained by Yoda before he became Qui Gon's padawan learner like when you saw Yoda with all those little kids in AOTC? Also, I've never quite understood the bit where Luke goes into the dark side bit of the forest on Degoba overlooked by Yoda and confronts Vader only to find out it is really himself after he chops his head off. Could someone please explain that to me!
ET Warrior
Obi wan was almost certainly taught by yoda when he was very young, before Qui Gon, and yoda probably helped him out after QuiGon died, giving him advice and whatnot, as we saw in ep2. The whole cave on Degobah was a test for luke. He was told that he would not need his weapons, but he wouldn't listen to Yoda, and he took them anyway, and so thusly he was confronted by 'Vader' We see much anger on lukes face when he's fighting and he's obviously using aggression, so when he sees his own face in the helmet it's saying that he is the same as vader when he uses anger, and is not in control of his emotions. Hindy
Maybe Yoda oversaw him during the trials, if he took them??? I read somewhere that the tree was pure evil, that a powerful Sith Lord had been killed and his power consumed into the tree Maybe the whole Luke thing was about fighting inner demons??? Otherwise dunno
Norin Radd
Jedi apprentices as Younglings, usually between 3 and 18 years of age are trained by Yoda, as we saw in Episode 2. When they reach the level of Padawan, usually 18-20, they are then taken under the wing of a Jedi Knight to continue their training in the "field". Rassick
Actually, they become Padawans at about 13.

Kryllith
His seeing his face is a foreshadowing of what is to become of him if he continues to let the darkside dominate his emotions. It all ties into when he loses control of himself in battle against Vader in RotJ. You can see it when he cuts off Vader's hand and then looks at his own. At that point, he's pretty much already become part of what Vader is (same black glove over a robotic hand and the same dark emotions overwhelming his self control). If he had continued that path, then it would have been his face behind the mask--metaphorically, if not literally--since he would have ended up taking his father's place at the Emperor's side, as Palpatine encouraged him to do. Mace says that he won't accept anakin as a student, because he's to old all ready. Why was this a problem then if the usually take students 3-13.. I kind a think anakin was a little bit younger than 13 years old.

ET Warrior
They don't take in students past the ages of 5 or 6 because they have developed too much of a connection to their family and such, makes it hard to completely separate them.

Also he had to many outside connections, his mom and friends.
