Yeah, simple matter of raw power versus the experience to use the raw power. Simply put, Anakin IS the most powerful of the jedi (on the assumption that power is derived by the midichlorian count), but he's no where experienced enough to make use of all his power. Toss his arrogance into the mix and he just ends up getting into trouble, like he did when he rushed Dooku.

He's a horny desperate tosser who needs to get on with his life and get over Padmé. Seriously, who still loves the same person in which they haven't seen in 10years? That's seriously a tad obsessive... I'm sure he's seen plenty of other woman on his travels with Obiwan over the past 10years, but no, as soon as he sees Padmé again it's massive hard on- no wonder she laughed at him, I personally don't blame her, 5mins later he's hitting on her and trying to get her into the sack by babbling on about how Jedi aren't supposed to be bodygaurds blah blah blah and making himself out to be big, tough and strong, when it's pretty obvious Padmé thought he was a loser. How she ended up falling in love with him, well I'm still trying to figure that out

All of my friends thought Anakin was dodgy, and I did too, but he is cute so that makes up for it :D Besides, I think Anakin was just written dodgy that's all, still I suppose he has to be a mothers boy, afterall it's her death that's set him onto the path of the darkside

As far as being a horny, desperate tosser. . .he's 19.

Sure he's seen plenty of other women, but the point of the film was that Padme' ignited feelings in him like no other woman could. 10 years is a long time, but Anakin is able to control his feelings for females, except when it comes to Padme'.

I don't think Padme looked at Anakin as a loser, it was obvious she still thought about him frequently over the previous 10 years. The reason Anakin's character was written as it was, was to show his impatience and his typical adolescent irreverance for order and guidance. It's easy to see how he fell to the Dark Side.:D

Didn't Obiwan teach Anakin about masturbation  I'm sure at some little shop somewhere out there must be an adult type shop

OK, I'm being sarcastic, but seriously in real life, what kinda 8/9 year old would still love the same person 10years later? OK sure you might think about that person occasionally, sometimes I think about the first guy who ever pee'd in front of me, only coz we were really good friends but he moved and we never swapped addresses. Sometimes I see the mother I used to like when I was in grade6 (6th grade whatever you wanna call it) and I sometimes think about how desperate I was, especially when we had an arm wrestle on the oval once and I beat him :D But it's not like I, or anyone else for that matter would seriously obsess over someone they haven't seen in 10years like Anakin did with Padmé. I don't mind the fact that Anakin thought about Padmé- that's only natural, but come off it, obsessing about her? That's completly different. Well to me it is and seriously, I think Obiwan should be slapped for not teaching Anakin about masturbation or taking Anakin to an adult shop as soon as he hit the age of 18 to buy him a blowup doll for his birthday.

I'm pretty sure Obi-wan told Anakin that if he stroked his saber too much that he would be liable to lose his hand.

It's called puppylove, and I see it all the time, especially in teenagers...

am i the only one who thought anakin was a badass? i mean, before the prequels were coming out i thought anakin was gonna be a major badass, but then i saw ep1 and completely hated him! i didn't even want to see aotc because of how bad anakin and jarjar were, since they'd both be in there, but after catching the last little bit of the trailer that shows a red lightsaber desperately trying to fend off a blue and a green that are wildly swinging around on the offense, i had to see it and i must say it is my favorite movie, and when i saw how badass anakin was i was just in awe, especially when he's all pissed off and lookin for his mother and he finally finds her, then when he uses the two sabers, even though it was for a short period of time that is still in my mind and i think everything with anakin is totally believable, i know not everyone agrees but that's how i feel, i think the actor was perfect for the part and they wrote anakin perfectly in the script, this movie definitely had an impact on my view of star wars and what happens because it starts out kinda bright and happy but gets dark progressively through the movie (especially the tusken raider part) but that's my view on it, please don't flame me or make fun of me :( i'm fragile:p

I also think Haydn was Lucas best choice for the part of Anakin Skywalker. I heard stuff like DiCaprio plays Anakin  and such crap, but i'm glad that he didn't do it.

The other thing i've heard was that N'Sync had a role in the Geonosian Arena Battle, but Lucas let the scene cut out because people talked too much about that.

But it's also right that Obi-Wan is smarter than Anakin. I mean, he sees the future when he says "How do i get the feeling you gonna be the death of me." :D

Yeah! Yeah! Give it up ET Warrior! We all know you're this obsessed Plo Koon fan! :p:lol:

I mean you don't see people like me going around ranting and avdertising our perhaps present fandom for a specific character? :p

<Aayla Secura is the greatest Jedi babe ever!!!>

Always about Plo koon, I mean do you see us go on like that or do that? No, we're normal people! :p

<Aayla Secura the most bad-ass yum-yum Jedi babe!!!>

Nah, j/k man. ;) Just coming to the aid of a fellow obsessessive compulsive fan of a specific SW character. :p

About Anakin, it is possible he still 'loves' Padme after 10 years and thought about her so much. (Daily might have been an exaggeration by him.) Consider he was an impressionable 9/10 year old boy who met this unique young girl (I don't think Padme's type often travelled to Tatooine.) and he had his very first crush/falling in love.

Probably it was infantile and not a mature emotion yet, but doesn't our first crush or first love stay with us always? Don't we always remember it vividly because it puts a mark on our lives and shapes us into who we are?

Plus I think with his Jeid training Anakin probably did not get to meet any girls with whom he could pursue any romantic ideas. (I think female Padawans must be off limits. :p)

Maybe he saw one or two interesting girls, sure but he probbaly was discouraged or forbidden to ever explore or pursue anything with them.

And so when he finally sees Padme again his deepest rooted emotion and teenage character produce such a mix that lead to his character and behaviour.

And don't forget the mysticism of the Force, perhaps their love and relationship was influenced by the will of the Force?

Need I even say anything? :D

You're right though. Anakin met his "angel" in TPM and then was seperated for numerous years. There's that whole "abscense makes the heart grow fonder" thing. I think Padme felt more like a mother to Anakin after he was forced to leave his mother behind, and basically accepted his crush as that a little lovestruck kid. Then when they met again, she learned that he was just going through a phase, he was serious (as well as being more grown up). That basically forced her to look upon him in a whole other light. And, well things just took off from there. :)

QuiGon: "Obiwan, i need you to test this blood sample i'm sending you."

ObiWan: "Wait a minute, okay"

QuiGon: "I need a testosterone count."

ObiWan: "The readings are off the charts.....over 20 thousand....not even James Bond has a testosterone count that high."

QuiGon: "No man has."

ObiWan: "What does it mean?"

QuiGon: "I'm not sure.....but you'll have one hell of a time trying to teach him, that's for sure.."
