Now with 1.04 I was cleaved in half a couple of times by dfa'ers. The trick is finding players who are likeminded, enjoy a good fight involving all the tricks/moves/skills instead of boring the hell out of everyone else by leaping about one time after another. If people just like racking up kills by standing in a corner electrocuting everything and it annoys you then my advice is, er, leave the server... have a beer. Do something that calms you down - ;-)... Just don't blame a piece of coding.

 

I agree with Bluezman though about 'blocking stances' etc. I wouldn't mind seeing a mod too where one swipe of the saber virtually kills you. Would make for interesting fights that could be over pretty quick. We're talking about a weapon that slices through metal like a blow-torch through butter afterall. Just a thought and as it's mod, it would be a choice rather than a patch that everyone 'suffers'.

 

 

I agree, this is a lightsaber, able to go through blast doors, but not slice you in half if it hits you? Hmmm...?

i think it's stupid that you can hear the absorb sound...

you can't hear the force... except grip (A New Hope) and lighting (Return of the Jedi) and maybe push and pull or jump. but that's it.

 

and if someone attacks you with the stong stance finisher, man this is so easy to evade...

 

try to fight npc in sp first before whine in mp... :lol:

In the quote you had, they said that the saber blocking was increased with the new setting tracesaberfirst to 1 (hence lengthening saber duels)... There should probably be a setting to actually decrease it, not increase it like in this instance... (saber duels last too long already)

I guess you are referring to my "The power of defense"-thread. Yes, blocking iIS powerful, but I don't think it is too much. To me it is just fine. My duels always last like 2 minutes and that's fine with me.

 

Come to think of it, my point about no. 5 (in reply to Duke's post) simply was that I read something written by Raven about altering the settings in private duels form the regular ones. Actually I don't really see the need to do this.

 

I hope I am not contradicting myself, if so, well, I changed my mind :D :D :D

What I wanted to say (Point 5) was, that if however anybody thinks that saberdamage is too much in duels after the saber has become dangerous again using increased tip-damage and increased damage from the swings in the beginning and the end (like it was in 1.02) one could use sg_saberdamegscale. However I agree totally that the saberdamage should not be reduced. I think that it needs to be increased at least in non-duel games.

 

What I see in FFA games lately is that ppl become more polite, waiting for two opponents to finish their fight. Since saberdamage is so low, it takes much more work to fight your opponents down. This however kills a bit the pace in FFA-like games. I dont like that. FFA is now not fast enough.

if lightsaber would really exist: the game is just realistic! i think, there should be more movement by the character when he's blocking, and one hit, kills, or chops something off. :duel:

I get your point and I agree with you. However, as far as "people being more polite in FFA games", I think this is mostly different from server to server. I have seen servers where people are shamelessly DFA-spamming and throwing into what so far has been a long-lasting 1-vs-1 "duel" (NOT in duel mode).

 

Actually I like FFA games not being so fast. In 1.03 you had these games where some red-stance-backsweep-whore reached the kill limit of 30 in 5 minutes. That was fast, however I personally didn't like it. I just recently dropped into an Unreal Tournament Multiplayer game (just to see how the feel is :) ) and I almost immediately puked on my screen.... too fast for me :D

 

But that's just me, I can understand if you argue pro fast FFA games, that's probably how this game mode was intended to be...
