Elegy Posted July 24, 2002 Posted July 24, 2002 They share similar facial features. You gotta realize, in RotJ the Emperor's face was all done up with makeup and such to enhance the "decayed" look. I mean, hell Palpatine is some old geezer in the prequels too, and that's a whole generation before the originals. So he has to look a little bit younger and such. I think they're the same person. EDIT: One more thing...why is that little bio of Sidious on the expanded universe section of the site?

Hmmm I am just curious tho, who was the Jedi Master Sidious then that died 10 years before Ep 2 that Obi Wan spoke of when he went to check out the clones. They said Master Sidious order the clones and Obi Wan said he died 10 years ago. and then we have Darth Sidious. Could he be the same person maybe and his he just doesnt look the same as the Sidious that the Jedi knew back then. He pretends to die and goes to the Dark side ? Just asking havent read much of the books

Jedi_Monk Posted July 24, 2002 Posted July 24, 2002 Yeah, that picture's only on the EU section of Sidious' bio which leads me to believe that this is a picture from some EU source and since EU isn't on the same budget as the movies, maybe they couldn't get Ian McDarmid to play Sidious... I mean, we ARE sure that McDarmid played Sidious in the movie, aren't we?
