...Is great! I can't belive how much fun it was, and here i was stuck playing nf duels! All you need is saber damage 2 and no weapons and you got yourself a great game.

The best times is when playing newbs, and force mindtrick is your new best friend ;). Like earlyer today, i used mind trick and went up to the flag carier and did an updown slash killing him before he knew what hit him, and another time i snuck in and the two flag carriers were fooling around standing ontop of each other in ctf_bespin, one push later i got two kills :)!

Lol i took the flag and stoped to say "Lmao" even though they were chasing me. One map that i don't recomend playing is the one that's indoors (not Bespin, Yavin , Or streets) luckaly the server i was playing on didnt have that one. ( that one is no good due to all the healing right beside the base)

In short CTF is the greatest gametype in JO

It's too bad so many people play ctf but don't realize that what makes ctf fun is that it is a TEAM game. Instead all you ever get are morons who just go off and do their own thing instead of trying to work out a team strategy. Also, what's with all the saber only ctf games. What about people who enjoy the thought of setting up garrisons, having sniper positions, intricate defenses, and the coordinated strike. Very rarely can I get a team to pull together, but when they do...Wow. The team I'm on almost always wins. Not because of individual skill, but because of pure teamwork.

I agree zero, CTF and also FFA is very fun, but only if the server admins can get their guts together and make it a guns, damagescale 2-3 server.... Otherwise, the saber is worthless and most servers are SO nowadays... :(

If the sabers gave more damage so they could rival the guns and generally make it pleasant and short to engage in a saberduel, then I'm considering playing more of that...

Well, seeing as I come from a TFC background, I can quite honestly say CTF is the greatest if played right, in other words, if you work as a team. I don't think the JK2 CTF players play as a team and that is very dissapointing otherwise I would play it all the time. Besides, I think CTF is best played with guns and I bought this game for the saber battles, and that is what I'm gonna stick to...so...in JK2, NF SO duels is where it's at for me.

Yup, that's the whole point behind clans like "Swords of Damocles". To be an organized killing/flag owning machine. I just started CTFing myself, and I'm loving every second of it. I'm Kinda getting bored of the dueling thing.

I thought that stuff was mostly for clans, maybe i should sign up to one of these, hopefully one will adopt Promod in their ladder because swiching styles is a hassle

and for worldogl's 1v1 ladder, why are some people with 1/0 and 0/0 higher in the ladder than people with 2/0?

I play CTF almost exclusively, i sometimes play Team FFA but it doesn't capture the teamplay as well.

Players are learning to work as a team a bit better now, the need for both defence and attack is starting to sink in. There is only one problem:

Defence doesn't JUST mean staying in your base, if you let an enemy flag carrier escape its your responsibility to at least try to hunt him down. The guys on attack should be focusing on trying to get the enemy flag. Also, midfield is very rarely seen, the team that controls midfield will usually win the game.

A very good point. I would love to start collecting links and articles for a CTF addition to Outcast Strategy. Sure I don't have the time to do it all RIGHT NOW, but I have people who can help.

I know there's tons of strategies out there that people are just dying to share, to help out the newbies and improve their scores as well.
