Weapon X

there is a double bladed lightsaber in the arena battle, i disagreed with the guy who posted earlier but i saw it and the movement was just like darth maul's, the blades just moved together TOO well to be two single bladed sabers facing different directions, my conclusion is that lucas or whoever put it in there as a easter egg for fans to spot, good eyes to whoever saw it first and also anakin is NOT the only jedi to use two lightsabers i know this has been discussed before but i think in the scene where 3po shouts "die jedi dogs! oh! what did i say?" if you look to the right in plain view through that shot is a jedi with two sabers and he cuts up a droid and gets on one knee and stabs it, i'm not sure what else he does but he does use them both, and in another scene you can see like 5 of droids versus two jedi and 3 sabers and you can clearly see one of them holding two so if you go watch it again look for those parts, both that i mentioned are on the right side of the screen, the second one is top right so look for those if your one of the many that still didn't believe there were others who used two sabers (i was one, but am no more:D)

The trick is to simply not watch the main action in the battle. Don't watch anakin or obi wan or whoever the camera i centered on. Just look around....there are TONS of jedis who are using two sabers...when ep 2 comes out on DVD i will be watching that scene again and again and again

Ya Ive seen ep2 6 times and theres like 3 times you see a Jedi using 2 sabers. I didnt see the double though but Ill see it eventually. Of course Jedi can use two or doubles. Its totally accepable in the SW universe. Just not commonly seen.

he might've edited it, and every ####ing copy of the movie made! i saw both blades move together cuz i looked hard and i did see it, i didn't believe him before but now i do cuz i saw it so go see it again and it'll be in the bottom right hand of the screen on a close-up of mace and obi, ok? and what do you mean by TMD version? do you mean it's a bootleg copy w/low res? lower than a 50 foot screen? oh hey maybe you're wrong afterall!

Ugh.....pirated copies.....it saddens me.....i mean, the quality that you see it at......it disgraces the beloved star wars......so not good picture, and horrible sound....poor John williams did such an excellent job with the sound and it has been butchered!

If you want to see the double saber go see it in a movie...the picture is clear and you can get a good look at it.

BTW, i like your Avatar ep2 anakin...but his sabers are in the wrong hands.....the green one was in his left hand when he was fightin dooku.

I looked for the double saber multiple times. There are some parts that MAY look like it, but I think its just a Jedi using double sabers. Or just an illusion. But who knows maybe your right. We will have to wait for the DVD.

About Anakins lightsabers-Look at my Avatar:)

That pic that ep.2 Ani used was maybe a post production pic or something. Still cool though.

Well that avatar comes form a series of pictures done as Ep II promo shots of several characters for magazines and such.

(Hence why Jedi added later like Aayla Secura don't yet feature in those. The outrage! :p)

You even have some of Samuel L Jackson as Mace Windu with a beard.

i don't mean to sound like an ####### but i didn't pick the colors of the blades on my avatar, it was a promo shot i got off a site somewhere(can't remember though) and i got a couple others and they're all the same so the only real way to have the sabers in the correct hands would be to mirror (that's probably what happened in the first place) the picture w/paint or something but i don't want to take the time to do that

I saw SW2 for the sixth time last Thursday and I deffinately saw the Jedi wielding a blue double-bladed lightsaber in the arena scene... Anakin's right, they blades are way too in-sync for them to be two sabers. But I couldn't see the 2x lightsaber in any other scene, so I'm guessing it's more of an easter-egg, like the historically impossible X-Wing/TIE fighter chase going on in the background while Obi and Ani are after Zam (which I haven't seen yet... oh well, maybe seventh time's the charm :D ).

i'm sorry if i overreact, it's the whole "taking the path to the dark side thing" it has made me irritable;) and about the double bladed lightsaber, thanks Jedi_Monk that was the term i was searching for (in-sync) WAIT!! maybe since the blades were in-sync it was a member of the band(i hesitate to use the term "band")! i remember reading on theforce.net that their cameos weren't COMPLETELY cut out, but were VERY small, maybe that was one of them since we never saw that person again

It sounds a little strange that a rookie jedi would have such a weapon. I think they would have a hard enough time with just one blade. Which part are you referring to???

where does it say that a double bladed saber is used for training? i personally would think that it's used by the more advanced jedi/sith, because it's a WHOLE NEW fighting style than with a single bladed saber, if you read that in a book then don't mention it again in a convo about the movies (unless it's an official movie book with the exact same title and story line) cuz if it's in a book it's EU and has no place in movie arguments

Double bladed sabers were NOT used for training.

I never heard of this. If in fact it says it somewere it most certainly must be EU.

The only canon double saber user is Maul. If in fact there were Jedis in the backround of ep.2 using double bladed sabers-they must be easter eggs.
