What's really annoying is I bet they're going to release them all seperately, then the classic trilogy seperate from the new trilogy a couple months later, then a couple months after that all six of them, and an extra bonus disk that includes scenes from the episode that never made it: Mr. Skywalker goes to Washington.

If they throw some extra goodies on there than it will have been worth the wait. In addition to waiting for the Indianna Jones Trilogy to come out on DVD too. But hey look on the bright side, at least we are getting "Clash of the Titans" this month. For years I couldn't even get that on VHS!

As stated earlier, OT DVD discs will be out after Episode III has premiered in 2005, so I'm sure they will be in stores no later than 2007(that happens to be the 30th anniversary of ANH, so it might be a nice coincidence, even though we would then have to wait almost two more years).

I guess the real reason is that while Lucas is now busy doing Episode III AND Indy 4, he still wants to do something special to this "vintage" as I heard him saying once. I presume, as a perfectionist he is(all directors are), he'll make ILM to tweak all those scenes(bad chroma keys, lightsaber/laser effects and so on) that didn't get enough attention when they were doing SE and might as well add few more scenes that connect these two trilogies together and make whole saga complete; I also heard that he asked John Williams to rescore some parts of ANH and include Imperial March there.

I doubt these possible new changes will be as radical as SE already was to some fans(only sort of revised SE), because Lucas said to the press back in 1997 that until then he had liked about 20 percent of it, but now it's more like 80 percent. Still who knows: ILM might be working on this "definite edition" even right now as long as their other projects allow it. ;)

You can get all origianal episodes on DVD from somewhere I know. But I reckon they are copyed from laserdisk, they not DVD quality anyway, but still have interactive menu's etc and 5.1 sound (apparently)

You can also get Ep2 there, for some time now, again quality between CHS and normal DVD, but it is a DVD disk with 5.1 sound.

I got a version of EP2 thats real bad quality, but good if you wanna remind yourself of something etc, esp when you only seen it once in cinima like me.

However, you'd be silly to ONLY get these ones, better to get them to tide you over till 2007! or when ever...

btw, I not saying where as I don't want to get banned!

I personally don't need all six movies in same package, because I'm already going to buy DVD copies of AOTC and Episode III seperately when they have been released(I already have TPM), but only original trilogy; except if George still adds, which I really doubt, something to prequels. So hopefully there will be TWO packages available: one with all six episodes and one with episodes 4-6.

What will probably happen is after Ep III is released on DVD, they will start work on Ep IV DVD and release one year after. Ep V a year after that, then Ep VI a year after that.

I find it will be along time untill there is a I-VI box set.
