sexcellent Posted August 9, 2002 Share Posted August 9, 2002 I think dooku is one of my favorite characters from the star wars saga. he is so cool, and i like the way he doesnt want to kill the jedi, he just wants to do his job. remember he was like "my jedi powers are far beyond yours, now... back down." i bet if obi backed down, then dooku wouldnt have killed him. he also shows this side to him in the arena where he promises the jedi that if they give up he will spare their lives. he's not such a bad guy! plus that guy has the most unique saber hilt i've ever seen. i would have loved to see him as a jedi before he turned to the dark side. whats with his plan to "destroy the sith"? maybe that was just lies, but i do sense good in him. maybe dooku turns back into a jedi in ep2... Why would he tell Obi wan that The republic is bieng run by a sith and then ask Obi to join him? Why does palpatine replace Dooku with anakin as his apprentice? Does dooku betray his trust? But then again thats just me making assumptions. Also the saber hilt was designed on Christopher lee's request for something that resembles his favoured fencing hilt: - The french Hilt. This hilt also is slightly curved but has a large pommel on the end. This type of hilt suits a fencing style that uses lots of stabbing thrusts rather than slashes or parrys as the thrust will be more direct and more pressure can be applied once the tip of the blade makes contact. ET Warrior Posted August 9, 2002 Share Posted August 9, 2002 I'm pretty sure he does want to kill the Jedi......first he has anakin obiwan and amaidala to be executed, then when that fails they are surrounded by droidekas....only the arrival of the jedi task force saves them. Then he lets around 180 jedi die before he offers them the chance to be spared. But if he spared them...he would have held them hostage....and when they refused to be hostages he was just gonna kill them. He told obiwan to back down, but before obiwan had a chance to back down dooku fired his force lightning at him, so had obiwan backed down, he would have ended up deep-fried. Then after Dooku had injured obiwan and taken him out of the fight we saw he was prepared to deliver the killing blow, and anakin had to save him. Dooku is a bad bad dude. I forgot to mention he also tried to crush Yoda with things from the wall and rocks from the ceiling, tried to fry yoda with lightning, AND nearly crushed anakin and obiwan underneath that crane....... And obiwan wasn't in an aggressive stance...when dooku shot his lightning obiwan's saber was held in one hand and he had it pointed down at the ground. Obiwan had to raise it to block the lightning. Think about it the Sidiouse foresaw many thing's like that Vader and Luke would rule! I assume that the Dark Side of the Force is easier to see then the Light side! Yoda was the Greatest Jedi Master and couldn't see much about Anakin's future. How would Palpatine be able to see the future and not Yoda. Dooku might be plotting against Sidiouse or it might off been thought up by Sidiouse himself. And when Dooku returned to Coruscant he said that the Clone War had begin. Many people thought that he had failed but that was what he was suppose to do in the first place. Dooku thinks that he knows whats going along when he doesent. Darth Maul didn't know everything he just did what his Master told him to do. There has to be a diffrence between the Master and the Apprentice. I don't get why he joined the Darkside, cus he left the Jedi because of all the corruption he saw within the Republic. I reckon he may betray Palpatine in Ep III or alternatively i reckon he will fight Mace Windu and will kill him and then he will fight Yoda and be defeated. My gut feeling is that Windu will attack Sideous when he tries to take over and Mace will be killed. I agree that Anakin will kill Dooku. If he doesn't get them from a volcanic accident it could be from something like an explosion or something that would scar him and leave him for dead.
