Darth Exar Kun Posted August 10, 2002 Posted August 10, 2002 i love lotr but the best races rnt included so i have to hate them u should include gollum, Barlog, Sauron, RingWraithes, Wizzards, Orcs, and Hobbits
thehomicidalegg Posted August 10, 2002 Posted August 10, 2002 the balrog, sauron, and the wizards are essentially the same race, only different in the way they wish to appear to the world
Kyth'emos Posted August 10, 2002 Posted August 10, 2002 Like I said in the other thread elves are cool but aragorn is cooler... men.

[RAA]-=Chi3f=- Posted August 10, 2002 Posted August 10, 2002 Originally posted by Kyth'emos gollum = hobbit sauron, wizzards = I always thought they were humans. Correct. They're all types of races. The Uruk-Hai are called Orcs and Mutant men. The question are they mutated orcs, mutilated men, or something else entirely. A Balrog and a Wizard are not the same race.
Ben_Walker Posted August 10, 2002 Posted August 10, 2002 I thought Wizards and Sauron were immortals.
Kyth'emos Posted August 10, 2002 Posted August 10, 2002 Originally posted by Ben_Walker I thought Wizards and Sauron were immortals. They are humans who posses magical gists that they can use to make themselves incredibly long lived and possiblly imortal though I doubt anyone would want to be imortal.
Darth Knight Posted August 10, 2002 Posted August 10, 2002 Originally posted by Kyth'emos gollum = hobbit sauron, wizzards = I always thought they were humans. gollum is a hobbit?
[RAA]-=Chi3f=- Posted August 10, 2002 Posted August 10, 2002 Originally posted by Darth Knight gollum is a hobbit? Yes, but a much older one. After stealing the ring and killing his brother, Smeagol (Gollum) was banned from his village. The ring twisted him into the dark creature he is now. However, Gollum is a very important part of the story later on in Return of the Kings
Jedi_Monk Posted August 11, 2002 Posted August 11, 2002 Sauron, Saruman, Gandalf and the Balrogs are all Valar. The Valar are basically angels, and Sauron, the Balrogs and Saruman are fallen. Sauron's master, Melkor (I don't know if that's spelled right) was a Miar, the equivilant of an archangel. And if you really wanna nitpick, the Orcs are Elves and the Trolls are Ents (I'm pretty sure... I know that they were the Dark Powers' answer to Ents, but I can't remember if they began as Ents or not)... and the Ringwraiths are men (terribly corrupted men). I think the race I'd most like to be of would be the Elves... they're so close to Illuvitar... they can see the celestial world and everyone knows they're Illuvitar's favorites
thehomicidalegg Posted August 11, 2002 Posted August 11, 2002 actually there are 12 valars, who are basically gods, one of which is morgoth(the evil god or melkor as jedi monk said). sauron, the wizards, and the balrogs are the maya, who are servents to the valars, like angels. balrogs were mayas who were mutilated by morgoth, sauron was morgoth's second in command, while the wizards served teh west with the other 11 valars uruk hai was sarumans mutilated orcs and orcs were elves captured by morgoth and tortured for eternity in the 1st age i dont think trolls were ents, they were created by morgoth all together like dragons... everyone forgot about the eagles though, they were pretty cool even if they didnt get much time in the books
Nebelwerfer_ Posted August 11, 2002 Posted August 11, 2002 elves own... buuut I think Men have more ambition to go out into the world and fight while the elves go off and sing to the trees. so I'm gonna say men. btw, do wizards count as men? Ishtari.

Sauron tortured and mutilated elves to make orcs, ents to make trolls, and men to make goblins.
SS_Sniper Posted August 12, 2002 Posted August 12, 2002 Elves that was cool when legolas was walking on the top of the snow.
