tekcon76
My system keeps rebooting mid play while I'm playing Rogue Squadron. It's begining to piss me off. I just started playing this and am amazed by it. I really am ejoying this except for the reeboot. I use an MSIKT3 Ultra board with an AMD 1800 XP chip an ATI Radeon 7500 vid. and XP Pro. Any ideas? Thanks
Redwing
That's weird! O_o It may just be a bug with XP Pro...or with your video card...but I really don't know. I know it has bugs with ATI Rage Pro, but I don't know about the Radeons...
Ikhnaton
did you install all available patches for the game?
Cal_da_Darth
Oh yay, the joys of XP!!! I advise using Duel OS'...XP for anything but gaming...
Wraith 8
why? XP runs fine for me.. and for almost any game you can find a right patch.. so.... Im afraid i cant help you Tekcon.... sorry
tekcon76
Thanks everyone. I was able to find the problem. It was actually my firewall! Every time my firewall would get an unauthorized hit from outside while playing, it would kick the system off. So I disabled the notification while playing and it works great. Your right thou, XP is NOT the most stable game play but most my network is 2000 & XP based and running it @ home allows me to admin from home (Terminal Server;-) Who wants to go into a stuffy office and were a tie?! But the duel boot is a good idea. I've been thinking about that for awhile. I'd really like to install Solaris and Mandrake and run them for a bit. I'm just to lazy to get it done! Thanks to all that posted. Tekcon

Sorry, I just read the magazines...and well, I heard XP is supposed to suck for gaming. It works so-so for me but it could be better, often times a game will just stop for no apparent reason when I'm in the middle of it.

Cal_da_Darth
Yeah, though the original Wolfenstein 3D was a good one. I had something similar...Nightmare 3D. Dunno if anyone's ever played it. It was horrible as far as gameplay and the number of times it crashed my computer was ridiculous.
