Voodoo lady

On a bit of a pointless note from boredom, i was just wondering... well actually its been bugging me for a while...

When did the voodoo lady stop being a real preistess to being a fake made to look good?

i mean, In the first two games she would like, magically appear from nowhere, were in CMI and EMI she is "summoned" and then hoisted up using pulleys, or weird little trapdoor type things...

She's also not as good at "forseeing" the future any more... just the voodoo stuff.

Do think the guys at Lucasarts meant for her to be a fake? Almost as if she was a fairground attraction...?

Does anybody else get what im talking about? :D

Heh that might be looking into it a little bit closely.

CMI was much more of a cartoon-style game than 1 or 2, less of the 'scary voodoo magic' and more of the 'comedy of the world behind the magic' ie 'the kids came over to play with their paper voodoo dolls'. The voodoo lady's change just fits in with the change in style and humor of cmi.

That's an interesting point. My theory (thought up at roughly seven in the morning, about sixteen seconds ago...) would be that because Guybrush was so adorably naive in MI 1 n' 2, he didn't notice how cut-rate the Voodoo lady was. Or perhaps he did, but just didn't want to blow the illusion for us starry-eyed audience members! ;)
