mariners2001
Wow...I just finished this level and it was amazing as usual. If you have not downloaded it yet, do so immediately! Here are my likes and dislikes of the level: GOOD: * All the new npcs like sniping stormies, fire sith, yoda, darth vader, etc. very cool * The Fire Sith entrance was awesome! Probably the coolest boss fight so far! * The map was designed masterfully...you are a very, very talented mapper. PROBLEMS: * Though the Fire Sith fight was amazing and I liked the puzzle (when I finally figured it out ), I thought there could've been more done to it. Like the fire being a lot more deadly or possibly replacing the lightning produced from his hand turn to fire (like the Dragon Remix mod) though that may not have worked. Also, the ending would've been much cooler if you could have made water pour into the room (like in the Yavin Training level when you go through the force trials) * I thought the throne room could've been much darker to add to the dark mood. * There are other things like adding more depth to the story or even making it more sneaky, but hey it's still an incredibly amazing level. Can't wait to see what's next in store for you, Zeus! Keep up the great work!
keo718
My one problem with the map is the techno Star Wars music. I don't like it personally. And I think mariners is talking about the reborn I am fighting right now. Its obvious you can't kill him with a saber, because I chopped his hand off and he's still fighting me saberless. I must have hit him clean at least 100 times literally. I haven't figured out the puzzle yet.
mariners2001
lol, how'd you cut off his hand and have him still live? here's how you defeat him: Use the big guns in the room to blow up the pipes on the wall. That way the water will disarm the fire dude and he'll become vulnerable.
keo718
Yeah. He's attacking me without a saber and still affecting me. Asked for the spoiler, I did that on the left side but for some reason the ones on the right side would not blow up when I shot them. I'll try again. Leslie Judge
It was funny to see the guy without a hand trying to get back his lost saber. The second thing was that Vader seemed to disappear time to time for a few seconds then appear for another few seconds. He was always there, so I could attack him. After killing him (I'm not sure I did ) new objectives were given and the program died so I don't know what is after it.
UltimateZeus
Thanks for downloading the map everyone. Sometimes the turret can't shoot properly out of the one box. Just get out the turret and back in and it should work. Vader is supposed to disappear - and no you do not kill him. He disappears for good. You'll find out later. Thanks again Zeus
volrathxp
Thought the map was pretty cool. The fire sith fight was confusing on what you're supposed to do. *Vader could have been a little taller. He is taller than Luke you know. Just thought you should have scaled him as such. *Yoda was pretty cool to have in there, but what was the real point in him being there if you had to protect him? *6 lightsaber wielding Weequays against one lightsaber wielding player is just too much. It really is. One player cannot take on all those (w/o cheating mind you) and keep tabs on all the fighters. I agree with mariners on the point of the throne room being darker. all in all though, fun to play. good job!
UltimateZeus
To VolrathXP's comment : All my maps that have been released, I have first tested the map without cheats before sending it in, so yes it is possible without cheats to finish the map. But thanks for the comments, I like to find out what I can improve upon.
Andy867
Actually, it is possible Volrath. because i am used to training against 31 bots all after me, and 80% of the time, I can kill 25 before one eventually slays me, but after each death, I am able to kill up to 30, then 32 on my 3rd revival. but I haven't tried this map yet, but will definitely give it ago, and then get it posted on JKII.Net when I get back to my house, after upgrading my pc of course. Seeing as how all that's in my computer case is a power supply, a cdr/w burner, and a dvd-rom.
Grets Sirob
I think it's a great map. Some of those points I can understand, but half of them I can't, seeing as I haven't been able to finish it yet. It's an extremely tough level, and I'm not complaining. I like a challenge ever since I stopped cheating(I find it's more fun when you don't cheat ). I'm in the hangar on the moon of Endor, and have gotten to the four reborn boss's, and finding it hard to stay alive. I love the map, your best so far. Once your done with the TC:JK1 Project, I hope you make more.
Takeoffyouhoser
I am at the Tie fighter hangar in the level so far....and as most people here REALLY like your level, I am going to say its just fair. The biggest problems I have with this level is that the archetecture is a bit plain. Also, the texturing could ahve been done a bit better in some areas... I did really enjoy that fire jedi alot... in fact... I decapitated him!!! But, alot of the level to me seemed too arcade like and a bit underdeveloped in alot of areas... Also, fighting all these waves of re-borns really gets old fast... Maybe if you cut most of the force powers out and maybe only fight a re-born or two per challange it might be a bit more believable... finally, the techno music gave this level too much of a John Waters kinda feel... especially where you fight Vadar.... this made it appear to be some kinda gay star wars disco with all those spinning rings and all... patchx
man this level rocked! there was a bit where i fell through the wall into a space box but that was the only problem with what was the funnest level ever in the history of fun levels the difficulty was just right too, it wasnt impossible or even ridiculously hard, i only died three times which is about right 1st time thru yoda, yo yo yo yo yoda... lol, what was that song? WhiteShdw
I think it's your best map yet. I have to agree with some people that the texturing and architecture could be better, but i did like the gameplay elements. And that is still the most important part of a map i think. Also about the difficulty. I think the first wave of reborns(the one where 1 reborn appears, each a little stronger than the last)was a good idea, but the second one was not. Now i read here that some people were able to complete it without cheating(i couldn't get past the 5 reborn bosses without cheating), so i guess it is possible, but you should draw a line between what is possible and what is fun. Difficulty doesn't always equal fun. And personally, for me. fighting 5 reborn bosses at the same time is not fun. You can't get a decent hit in when they attack you all at the same time. wannadie
Great map, I like the other ones too. I like the npc AI on the bosses, and vaders disappearing mind trick. Should do a movie re-enactment, Empire strikes back or Phantom Menace or something(when people make the models). You should give the player the two other saber stances if possible(I usually play with the one-handed blue stance in sp), the only way I know how to get them is "setforceall 5", but then you get all force powers as well which is cheating, lol. I kinda got into the music after a while, beats listening to nothing. All in all I think these are the top or in the top range of sp maps. Dont quit. patchx
i beat the loads of reborns bit by jumping around and stuff to seperate them then when one was in lunge range, stabbing right through the smegger and moving to the next one the weequay's are a sucker for choke, they couldn't get out of it and with vader and the emporer i waited til there back was turned towards someone else and dfa'd 'em til they were d.o.a
UltimateZeus
Thanks everyone for all the support. I will make another map. Any suggestions for a new map can be placed below. I would love some ideas that I could implement. If not, I'll work something out What do you all think about a touch up of all 3 maps and to release it as a full mod. Any thoughts? WhiteShdw
I like how you did the fire sith fight. That was well done. I suggest doing something similar in a newer map. Only make the puzzle a little more comlex. I also liked the part were you spawned one reborn after another, gradually building up difficulty. That was cool. Something else i'd like to see is making a room that dictates the way you fight your opponent. Right now you made rooms that gave you plenty of room to fight, so you haven't had to worry about your surroundings. How about making a room with some trigger_hurts(maybe some electrified columns and or walls) in there and spawn some reborns in there. So you have to worry about some of the danger areas in the room plus the reborns. And you can also use the room as a weapon by pushing the reborns in those trigger_hurts. Pretty simple, but it gives a bit of variety in the sabercombat. I made something similar. I made a sort of dueling room with several platforms at different height. But the platforms were not really big enough to fight on, so it was very possible to fall of. But a fall shouldn't necesarrily mean death, so i made sure the platforms overlapped a bit, so it was possible to land on another one by accident. So generally speaking, make a room that forces you to be aware of it's environment and that you can use to your advantage or can be used to your disadvantage. WhiteShdw
Hey, Zeus. I just noticed that your map actually fixes a Raven texture that didn't work previously. I was fooling around with a mirrored floor yesterday, for testing purposes and it looked great. Today i deleted your pk3 from my base dir, because it was causing trouble with some of the Mp characters. Later i loaded up my mirror floor test map and the floor texture didn't work anymore. After much investigating i finally found out that you had fixed the mirror_floor shader by adding several files that the shader needed to be drawn. It never worked before, but it does now. I like this one better than the mirror_floor 2 shader. I think it runs a little bit better as well. Nice job

UltimateZeus
I'll do some testing to see if I can get the player model to scale down. Where there is a will there is a way Zeus
