Star Wars Radio show - anyone else listen to it?

OK hopefully you guys are as nuts about Star Wars as me, and I have a question for you.

When I was small 20 plus years ago, there was a Star Wars Radio Drama on one of the BBC radio stations. It was a serial and I believe it had many of the original characters doing the voices. It went into lots of detail and filled in a lot of the gaps between the scenes in the films. it also had quite a lot about Luke and his friends on Tatooine with skyhopper racing through beggars canyon and such.

It was brilliant and I did tape it from the radio. Problem is I lost the tapes now, they have probably been recorded over or thrown out by some heathen. I did manage to get the books of the radio drama (one of my most treasured posessions now).

What I want is to get these radio dramas on CD is it possible to find these? does anyone know what I'm talking about? PLEEEEAAAAASSSSEEEE help.

The Radio Dramas are still available for sale on CD

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1565111656/qid=1031835343/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/002-6759212-5136823?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

StarWars and Empire are good but Jedi is lacking. The way its done seems like they just did it for completness, not any desire to produce quality. I think the only original voice in it is Lando's

But you may want it just to have the whole collection. Otherwise, purchase them seperatly.

I have them on Cassette myself and they are GREAT for long road trips! StarWars is 6 Tapes. Takes me all the way to Pittsburg from DC.

I listened to these when I was a kid as well and later on thought I may have just dreamed that I had listened to them because no one else knew what the hell I was talking about. Then I found them for sale at Borders and .... ah... the sweet memories.

Yeah I know the feeling, I would tell other so-called Star Wars afficianados that there was a radio play and they would just look at me like a fool.

When I started to listen to these again it was like i was like 5 yrs old again listening to them with my father on saturday afternoon, such sweeeeeet memories!

The other thing is they do have that "Star Wars Feel" to them not like reading the expanded universe or anything, to me they are just cheap rips, they actually feel like they were how lucas himself would have made the radio shows. Just an opinion.

LOL it was aired about 20+ years ago so unless you can travel through time it may be a bit tricky to tune in man!!!

The link I posted up top has the shows in Real media format and they rock, so all is not lost short of getting your hands on a flying delorean.
