I'm not the run-and-gun type either. Games like UT2003 that have very little strategy variety just breed irritating "133t" players. Basically everyone thinks the only way to have fun is to rack up the most kills as fast as humanly possible. And it's a little too obnoxious for me...the excessive gore and all-around flashiness gets annoying after a while.

Yep, I've got it pre-ordered too. Should be out very soon in the UK.

I've played the demo, mostly against bots, and it's fine, though different from it's predecessor. I thought the weapons were balanced quite well, though I'm wondering why you only get limited grenades for the assault rifle, and the secondary fire for the flak doesn't feel quite right.

Overall, the game seems to have a bit more of a Quake 3 feel to it - especially the chunky suits etc. - but I'll reserve judgement til I play the full game. I wasn't too fond of the OTT gravelly announcer's voice either. The graphics are nice, it runs well on my tired old rig with a Geforce 2 GTS/Pro card, and I even got it to work over the net (although it was pretty choppy due to my laggy 56k connection).

Shame they didn't include Assault mode...that was one of my favourites, and I hope it appears as an addon. I wouldn't mind the exploding ammo, No Redeemer etc., mutators either - are they in the full game?

Too many games, too little time.

Oh yes it's good! It's my favorite game and classic UT was my favorite game. JK and JKII fall just behind that! If you've never played UT before you must try it! Even the classic UT engine is something to marvel to this day!
