Thew Rydur
The secret of mana that game was awesome I don't believe I ever beat it though. I tried playing Astonia too, I didn't really like it too much. Thats the only MMORPG i've ever played so I hope all arent like that. (Especially SWG )
Corpocus
Gawd! There are so many. Well, I been and still play I think every MMORP games since EQ came out..but never played UO. Far as RPG games go, I try to buy evry RPG game that comes out since...about 6 years ago...that when I got my comp but before the comp I know for sure I played every Play Station and Sega RPG game that came out.Even If I don't get to play it right away I still buy and it sits there and waits for me..so, I'm sure I played almost every game or close to it..too many to remember:)
Deft Aklin
Well, I haven't played many RPGs on PC, mostly on various consoles and far too many to count. As far as REAL RPGs, here is the list: Shadowrun D&D (dating back to the original version) Star Wars (WEG and TSR) Boot Hill Gurps Galactic Super Heros Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay Deadlands Vampire: The Masquerade (as well as Dark Ages) These are just the ones I can think of off hand. Either way, you probably don't care, as these are old fashioned RPGs, Ie. with pencil and paper.
BlackDove
So many...all FF games, Diablo's, Baldurs Gate, ALOT
Corpocus
Oh Dath said something I did not think of..Table Top RGs too. Yeah, I played everything Darth mentioned and: the first D&D all the way to current, 3rd adition. And Drunken Vampire..you should try that Darth..better:) It's the White Wolf Vampire system, you just drink a lot and smoke...cigs...make funny characters..like I made a malchavien( however its spelled) Ex Jock that can only drink blood from drunk women...not men..just women .It's a fault:) A friend made The Count..remember him from that kids show?.Anyway, he counts a lot during the game..and turns into a counting bat a lot too....see the point of Drunken Vampire....? *****WARNING******* If you are under the legal age to drink then you are too young to play this game...Parents do not let you under drinking age children play this game I should have put that warning on above the actualy post:)
setsuko
Saw this post when I was browsing the old posts, and couldn't let Ewok Hunter's post slip by! And yes, anyone mentioning Yo-gi-oh or Pokemon or whatnot in their CV of RPG 1337-ness WILL get their heads cut off by me! [i am editing as the titles slowly swims up from the bottom of my dark, forgotten pool of memories] P&P: Vampire: the Masquerade Mage: the Ascension Werewolf: Apocalypse Changeling: the Dreaming Wraith: the Oblivion Shadowrun Drakar och Demoner (NOT D&D) Deadlands: Hell on Earth Warhammer (the RPG, not the miniature game) Star Wars (duh. The old version, not the new D20 one) Bubblegum Chrisis MERP Mechwarrior BESM (big eyes small mouth) Kult Call of Cthulhu Western Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (yes! this was compatible with Palladiums Heroes Unlimited system, and not as shoddy as it sounds!) Paranoia Eon NeoTech Mutant Mutant Chronicles Space: 1889 Kill Puppies For Satan .... and possibly some more SNES RPG: Too many to mention. All FFs, (4,5,6), and more or less all Sqare's RPGs. Bahamuts Lagoon Breath of Fire 1 & 2 Chrono Trigger Front Mission (Hey! It was RPG'ish. At least for a console game) Live a Live Secret of Mana Super Mario RPG (Hey, let's not let only Benihana14 be embarrassed!) Tales of Phantasia Playstation RPG: Final Fantasy X Kingdom Hearts (that's it! I just got my PS) PC RPG: Fallout 1 & 2 (FO1 is perhaps the best RPG experience I've had on a PC) Baldurs gate 1 and 2 Icewind dale 1 and 2 Planescape Torment (leages better than both BG and IWD) Neverwinter Nights Morrowind Dungeon Siege Those Ultima Games. Don't remember wich, but at least Ultima 7) Call of Cthulhu MUD Arx Fatalis FF8 Arcanum and propably a lot more that I don't remember LARP: Two fantasy LARPs Two Mafia LARPs Some Wampire LARPing (though, I don't really like Vampire LARPers. They are most often quite weird) MMORPG: Anarchy Online (from beta 2) Dark Ages of Camelot (from beta 3) All Diablos, Zelda and whatnot that I've played doesn't count as RPGs. Since they are not RPGs. What can I say? I started at a young age .
Thew Rydur
How was Arx Fatalis Set? I got the demo yesterday and tried it out, but it was awful glictchy. Did you have any problems like that with the game?
setsuko
Can't say it was one of my favourites. But then, I really don't like first person games, and especially not in RPGs, where combat becomes a wild array of slashes where you have no clue about range or success of hits (Morrowind was ok, though the combat still sucked.) Sounds Risky
Role-Playing Games I've played: E.V.O. The Search for Eden Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time Deus Ex Paper Mario I'm not a big RPG person as you can see. Ingrown
The best console RPG I would have to say would be Chrono Cross. The best PC game would be Icewind Dale 2.

Jared Sinn
Hmm, glad I didnt buy Arx, although it got great ratings. Bugs can totally kill a game tho... I've tried Astonia, Thew, and the only similarity with SWG will be the fact that there are several variatios on chat channels, lol. Astonia was a bit slow and choppy, the graphics were 2-d and sucked, and for the most part, it will be as differnt from SWG as can be. And yes, Secret of Mana was a great game, although its been years...didn't Santa Clause have a cameo in that game? JS
Thew Rydur
Yes, I believe he did. If I remember correctly he was some ice monster, and then you saved him.

Jan Gaarni
What can I say? I started at a young age . ROFL I know one doesn't ask this question but: How old did you say you were again?
setsuko
I'm 21. Basically, it all started with my dad, who has this entire library of old tabletop games and RPGs. So, me and some friends more or less learnt english by reading RPG sourcebooks. While the rest of class was singing "The wheels on the bus are going round and roung" and learning how to count to ten in english, we were sitting in a basement, reading the Mechwarrior rulebooks. Needless to say, I've never done a homework in english. Ever. And my teachers have never bothered me about it. RPG: the true way to become bilingual So, I have some 10-12 years in the RPG business.
